One of the guys I wanted us to contact when he entered. Can flat out shoot but I think Virginia is the leader here.

To Kentucky. The Wildcats are cleaning up. Dioubate, Lowe and Kam Williams is a nice haul.
And this morning picks up Jayden Quaintance. UK may have nailed it with Mark Pope.

No doubt that’s a huge factor. UK kind of has a little history in basketball!

Curious why no progress on the Simpkins. It’s been a week since their visit.

Apparently the staff is backing off of them. Wasn’t told why but I don’t think they wanted both. They were interested in TK ( I believe that’s the better one lol). They’re supposed to be visiting Oregon soon.

Who do we think are the starters? Is CMM looking for role players at this point? Any guess on remaining NIL budget?
Thomas Jr & Reed locked in starters?
King, Sutton, & Nwoko potential starters?

Yep I’d say Thomas and Reed are for sures. I think Rob miller and Sutton will battle for the four spot this offseason. Glen west reported that we’re still in a good spot after all the additions and that we should be competing for one to two more difference makers so I think we’ll be in the market for another power 5 starter or two.

Besides Thomas, which are impactful? Also, what order would you place our transfers from most to least impactful?

Darrion Williams, Texas Tech, in the portal. Go. Get. Him.

You decide that at workouts and practices

We’ll definitely have an impact from Nwoko. Don’t know if he’ll start but he will get his minutes and be a good rim protector for us. He’s played/started in the SEC and now the ncaa tourney and knows what it takes. So we don’t have to worry about his game translating. It’s more we just gotta continue his development
I think Sutton was an upgrade over Chest at this moment. I think Chest may have more raw potential but right now Sutton has more in the bag offensively and will give us more flexibility with our lineups. He doesn’t shoot an amazing three ball but as a PF he shoots just well enough that other teams are going to have to respect it. If we can see him get to the low thirty percent area for his three ball this season that would be great for us. I don’t expect him to be a 19ppg scorer like he was in the Summit League but I think he may have the potential to give us at least 8 to 10 points a night while helping us out tremendously on the boards and defensively.
It’s possible that Rashad King could be a nice upgrade over Dji in that “jack of all trades” role. He’ll give us more offensively than Dji did being that he can create his own shot at all three levels with the same type of defensive intensity. He’s also a little longer than Dji and has more athleticism so I don’t see a world where he doesn’t give us good minutes but I’m not sure if he’s an SEC starter. Same thing with McKinnon he gives us some more shooting and he has an underrated playmaking ability but I think we’ll be using him off the bench.

Guard play will always be the most important thing a team can have especially in March. I think coach will grab a solid power 5 guard to pair with Dedan at the two spot and then we’ll bring another wing in for that 3&D role.
I’d personally rate this class around a 7.5 or 8 right now. It’ll become a 10 if we can bring in a little more high major production and shooting. Gonna be super exciting to see how this team comes together.

I agree that they have to bring in a 2 guard starter. Plenty of people out there. I just wonder what the strategy is.
