Barton Simmons said the Max couldn’t throw with a defense out there. He seemed to be pretty accurate to me.

Wow he looked really good. Reading this board you would have thought he was a scrub.

Seems to have legit speed as well as I did not see anyone able to run him down.

Is it just me, or does he have a very unique throwing motion?

Damn I see huge improvement from his tape last year. Much better prospect than I originally thought.

LMAO Ain't that the truth!!! His highlights from last season were very impressive considering he was getting pressured so quickly. and even when he had a little time his passes were very accurate and got to the receiver quick

This what I said. I liked his highlights last year. He looks like he is faster than Burrow and already has damn good size at 6'4 215. Dude can take a lick too.

WRs dropping passes and pressure is in a lot of these clips almost as soon as the snap. I can see us going from Brennan to Johnson easily.

Yeah he was making these same throws last year, except half were while he was running for his life and the other half the film cuts off because of a drop. Only huge difference I see is his wrs are catching the ball and he’s getting a half second longer to throw. Max has always had an elite release, very good accuracy (at least on the highlights), really good arm strength, and is surprisingly mobile for his size. I been on the MJ train and I ain’t getting off.

I know these are highlights, but he is making all of the throws.

the only negative may be his footwork. Being on the bad end of that kind of rush (constantly), he rarely has a chance to show off any proper footwork he may have practiced.

He appears to throw from up on his toes a lot. Seems very fixable.

he's got to improve his mechanics, especially where he holds the ball

it looks weird b/c it's elongated due to holding the ball at his hip. with better ball placement prior to the throw, he will have a much faster, more compact release. however, his release point did look like philip rivers a bit on some throws

agreed. I did mean that his footwork was bad, FYI. i meant that he does not have a chance to show any good footwork because of the constant pressure he is under.

He is a much better athlete than a lot of people give him credit for. Really the only negatives I saw on the tapes was he tends to throw off his back foot a good bit and when he tries to hurry his throw his feet get a little tangled but overall he looks like a damn good prospect.

Great size
Good athlete
Great arm strength
Good accuracy
Showed the ability to put some touch on the ball and doesn't just throw bullets every pass.

Looks like he pushes the ball, a bit like Philip Rivers. His footwork is surprisingly poor.

IDK , looks like he holds onto the ball way too long. A sack waiting to happen

Your football scope must be really small if the only comparison you make is to our current QB.

Right, I mean, why would a fan of a team compare a recruit to the current teams QB who is setting records and looks like he will eclipse the single season record, needs 1 yard to displace Rohan Davey at # 10 career all time in 18 games, 5 of which will likely be playing 1/2 the game(4 already are).

Can’t imagine why he would want to compare an incoming QB to him?

I assume since your scope is so vast you have a better comparison to share with us?
