so what's the deal with this kid? His offer list is not overly impressive, I'm assuming he's a project?

Read the thread

Evidently blowing up on the camp circuit as is now getting noticed

As some have said, he projects as an eventual 4 star

This is why great recruiters keep following up on these kind of kids...some of us are late bloomers...this also probably means that he hasn't reached his full potential...hat's off to the staff!

No way. Size is obvious but what Grimes likes about this kid is his footwork. It's pretty damn good. As always, room for improvement but the kid has natural fluidity. Handwork is poor, always seems to be for the big kids. But that is the easiest to fix. He's comparable to Pocic with the skills.

LOL. very true. After I posted I realized that comparison may bring out the "skin color crew"; didn't think about the hair.

For the record I used Pocic as the comparison because he's recent, similar, and the skills (at this point) make them both very versatile as far as position.

I think the reactions, here, to OOS commits are hilarious

Why?

I'm guessing he is curious about the contradiction of the melee of ranters that dis the prospects that leave this state, versus the "there's nothing wrong with us taking them". If I am correct, then I agree with him.

They are hypocrites....but dammit, they are our hypocrites, that that makes it allllllll okay.

This is great news! Miles & Grimes already have three OL commitments and I agree, this young man must have impressed LSU to get a commitable offer this soon, with seemingly a good chance to move to 4-star status. If Womack has solid footwork, that is a great start toward becoming a solid college OL.

Again, another great example of why Grimes was hired--seriously doubt previous OL coach would have gotten this commitment this soon. Just wondering how everyone thinks he compares to Garrett Thomas, who committed to Texas last week and who many thought LSU might want to evaluate at the OL camp.

Hopefully we can wake up Basil from his summer vacation and he can comment as is an expert on OL recruiting for this board.

I think Thomas ends up being a guard, to me thats his natural position going forward. We need tackles now , I think at the very least Maea Teuhema is a right tackle, Magee is a guard, Womack is a swing guy.

Its a really good OL class for now, flipping Tillery makes it a great OL class. Grimes is on fire, Im still excited about him getting Jevonte Domond

I hope we keep him. Some LSU S&C would do wonders to that kid.

LSU, South Carolina, Louisville, Ole Miss & Miss. State have all offered him in the last 5 weeks.
