The question everybody should be asking is....

What benefit can come from the negatives typed out here at nauseum?

Criticism is a good thing.....nobody wants TD to become LSU's version of tidefans.....BUT there is too much negativity right now and misery appears to love company.

This exact thing was said about sports talk radio 20 years ago.
It was probably true then about radio and it's probably true now about the internet.

How can all the negativity help? That should be the question.
Why didn't you start a thread stating "Bobby Hebert doesn't hurt recruiting? Think again...".

Have you ever made a negative post on TD.com? If you answered "yes, then what makes you exempt from criticism?

LSU just lost the national title game in the worst possible way...people are pissed and venting.

Members of the press are demanding an explanation from Miles (see Guilbeau and Rosetta) for the piss poor performance. Would you consider that negative?

Maybe it will make our coaches better...maybe it will show the nation that we care deeply about our program.

But please tell me how TD.com is hurting recruiting?

You suicicdal, constantly negative, jump off the side of the cliff, this program is doomed posters need to be taken out. There really needs to be a medium somehow on these boards to stop this fallout...I know what's coming and alot of you will be trying to downplay this, but it's reality.
Say we stop the board fallout. How do we then stop Bobby Hebert from going on ESPN talk shows and degrading the program and it's coaching? How do we stop that "tea-bag" video from making the rounds all over the internet? How do we shut down the fan facebook and twitter sites where people negatively degrade LSU?

We live in a media-driven world. Negativity is all over the place. Be nice to shut certain people out from it, but that's not reality.

However, I've come to the opinion that any person/recruit who reads this board and makes decisions based what is read on here is foolish. I don't care what is said every fanbase has the same amount of idiots as LSU.

To be clear, I'm not saying that these kids are making their FINAL decision based on just this ONE issue. There are tons of things that kids have to take in consideration. How many times have you read a report about a kid saying "the fanbase is crazy." or "I'd like to check out the atmosphere and the support."

Just so we're clear, not for a second am I thinking that a recruit is making his decision based on a message board. That's just ridiculous. All I'm saying is that it doesn't help with the image of the fan support.

What mess? The tigers just went 13-1 and won an sec title and we have a spoiled fanbase that is fueling negativity into the program. This "mess" is created by entitled fans.

it's entitlement combined with a horrible persecution complex. It's a really annoying combo
I remember in decades past it was just the latter. THAT was really bad.

I have been negative .....several times over the last years.

Ive been sunshine pumping LSU and CLM since Monday, yesterday I was all but looking for a cliff though.

Bottom line Criticism is good......too much negativity is bad for the program and lately theres been too many negative threads/posts......it can only hurt the program IMO......it certainly cant help.

Which is fine.

But you don't think it hasn't gotten out of hand?

No one enjoyed what we saw last week and it's absolutely understandable that the fallout happened. I was pissed for 3 days.

Then there's composure and perspective that this site never regained. That's unfortunate.

How bout we thank Miles for getting Gunner's commitment in the first place.

It was a major pull, and obviously one that wasn't easy to get. He said from the very beginning that EVERYONE wanted him close to home, including himself. Miles and Krag were able to sell the program to him, at least for a time, despite all of that.

The NCG had nothing to do with his decision, if you actually have been reading along. Had he committed to ND the day after xmas no one would have blamed Miles in the least.

Fans get upset when their teams lose. This is nothing new, or unique to TD.com.

That's called damage control. I know some people don't like it and just love watching the anarchy here.....but sometimes, damage control HAS to happen.
