Was on plane with Coach JJ this evening from Dallas. He was visiting with Spears family. Said Spears is legit 6'10" (showed pic of them today and he towers over his dad) and was working out with some pros today and was giving them fits. Said think Ben Simmons coming out of high school but a better shooter and dribbler. He'll be a one and done and if he could go pro now, could do it.
LSU is good spot and working them hard, but UT is a big challenger (sister plays vball there). Dad and mom (LSU women bball alum) are in our corner. Also said WW was flying back from Paris recruiting.
JJ was very nice and approachable. Just loves LSU.

Ben Simmons was a gifted passer, so I have trouble believing that part. But good information here, solid post.

Maybe he was a good passer, he just refused to do it.

Except in the last two minutes of a close game.

He would pass it and then disappear, never to be seen again.

Classic shite post that someone once made and now suimpletons like you feel compelled to repeat it to show everybody how clueless you are. Of course you also forget Simmons 20 points , 12 rebounds and 8 assists were the only reason the Tigers were in the game to the end, but go ahead keep the villain alive.

He was an elite passer at LSU and early pro career.

He may have been an elite passer, but e was an extremely subpar teammate. He was one player I was extremely stoked anticipating his arrival. and then was extremely disappointed in his play. One of the most selfish, me first players I can remember.

I love having Johnny Jones on staff. If anybody can convey their passion for LSU, it's him. Hes been everything here.

Maybe attitude not play. He honestly over shared the ball on the court when he should’ve just tried to take over.

And was a fantastic player for us on the court outside of the last 1 minute of some games when he got scared to be the guy.

It’s insane how many people are downvoting this to disagree

Simmons was a starting point guard in the NBA at 6’10. Dude was a generational TALENT, he just never lived up to his potential.

He’s a head case, but his talent and performance at LSU should be undeniable.
