5 Star in state DT Maason Smith has released his top 5

Miami
Florida
Georgia
LSU (100% Crystal Ball)
Alabama

He cut USC meaning he won't be teaming up with 5 Star Korey Foreman in Southern Cal.

LSU or UGA...

Will be a fun (or shitty) race to the end

Also worth mentioning, he said his dad favorite school is Florida FWIW. I do not think they have a chance realistically but something of note.

if both went to the same school it's probably gonna be LSU. USC looks like more of a threat to Korey than UGA

Sell them on we need them to come in a play immediately. UGA looks like they have enough depth to keep them on the bench a little longer than we would.

That is my hope as well. I'd rather the team be kicking arse, but I hope Maason and Korey are both watching and seeing opportunity. They could both come and start day 1 and help shore up the D line.

Is he a lsu fan? If so, how could he not want to play for the tigers after a title and tons of nfl draft picks? How could anybody want to play for Georgia or Alabama, our enemies? I know it happens, but it doesn't make sense for him to go anywhere else

Honestly I dont Get the love for UGA from Smith.

John Jenkins was the last DL they had drafted and they take high ranked guys all the time.

Why am I not surprised bama is in his top 5? They haven’t even been mentioned during his recruitment.

There was an interview (I think it may have on Bama Board) where he said he has always liked Alabama and has Bama posters, blankets, clothes, etc. Of course, recruits generally favor the school of the person interviewing them, so maybe it amounts to nothing.

Hopefully they see these losses as inexperienced players and an opportunity to play early and often for a team very capable of reaching the pinnacle of CFB, as demonstrated just last season...

For real. The only thing that could have saved us was if some of the '17 guys stayed another year. But, instead of this happening we had a record* number of early draft entrants or opt outs.

*Record is possibly hyperbole

It's not. We had 9 underclassmen leave and an additional 3 opt outs.
