I just got wind that the Gumps have been told to check out what I wrote. Down vote away. But y’all KNOW my post is 100% correct. That’s assuming the lurkers actually knows how there own University handles recruiting.

On a 5-5 team ?

Maybe you see the point. And yes, their position groups were weak

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I side with Lester on this argument. Except in very rare occasions you don’t want several freshman beating out upper class men. One maybe two but several is an indication you will have an average year. The Todd Harris's of the world need to step-up and take the spots. Same goes for the RB position. Those two better beat out the incoming freshman or we could be in for an average year.

We need to make it ok to be able to talk about your own football team rationally & not like a total fan boy

It doesn’t mean you hate a player or think he’s bad or that he’ll never be good.

First of all I never said in my post that Langlois starts game 1. He told me once they figure out his POSITION, he will become starter and probably never give it up, Sage as of noon Fri. Is your starter at Nickle. Several receivers have the opportunity. Now look, symbolically the actual 1st play @ UCLA may be Flott or whomever, his statement merely means it is inevitable Sage will see majority of snaps. I am not trying to call anyone out or anything , just trying to help y’all understand what I am trying to say. I admit guys , I won’t win a Pulitzer for my writings on here. If you can only read well written info, pay your dues and join 247. They are Paid Pros. I’m just a Coon- arse out of his comfort zone.

I ll play Devils advocate, so you are basically saying 5 star difference makers at positions that are naturally easier to learn shouldn’t be starters? I honestly don’t follow your logic. Now if we had to start true freshman at OL/DL /QB yea could go along with that. Check out Bama s freshman that start EVERY year. Do y’all realize in 2019 they had 6 yes 6 true freshman on Defense start. So apparently that means there weak? Not picking fight , literally don’t understand yalls logic? All it means is your recruiting cream of the crop. And just because recruiting sites said Langlois was ranked at a low star, means absolutely nothing. Chances they never saw him play live and ASSUMED things.

No, I’m just saying typically if you have a lot of freshman staring then it’s not the best end result. Now, the following year or two down the line it is different. Look at the NFL for example. Rookies can come in and be a ball of fire but taper off at the end due to the long season. Not saying college is the same but it is a different level that most freshman bodies are not accustomed to. I like your posts Iota and I agree with most you have to say but not on this subject.

Also, I don’t see how McGlothern doesn’t find a place on the field. I know he is probably the 3rd DB but he was coming on strong and this second year might be his break thru year. Boy, this secondary is going to be fun!

This “thread” is old as time. Do gooder with inside sources decides to share his scoop and rantards pick away at the minutia until the do gooder has enough of throwing his pearls before the swine, takes his ball and goes home.

Thanks for the scoop iota. Ygm. Ignore the idiots and let them be who they are.

Keep posting Iota I come on this board specifically to find your post. Some posters on here I believe are just insecure with themselves that they don’t want to believe that someone actually on here has some legit sources and mostly everything you post(about 90%) checks out. So keep doing you bro don’t change

Told you Iota, you can’t please everyone and if you have sauces, keep it up but I don’t care how involved the sauces are, if they’re wrong be ready to take the shots. I promise you there are lot more of us out here that want to hear your info than not, they just make more noise than the majority. P.S. Not everyone can be “my man” the Capt.

Off topic but do you know anything about Marvin Jones Jr iota? Curious as he seems to be a very good player and somebody who I think would be a great addition to the class if we could swing him from FSU. This might be something similar to my David Bailey question.

You do realize that the Bama defense you are referring to was not very good. Sting lead us a once in a generation talent, but I do think that elite recruits can beat out others as a freshmen. It just doesn’t happen very often in elite programs. I am very big on our freshmen receivers but this is a position that almost always needs time to develop in a system and get experience in games. Boutte developed into a dominant receiver last year but it did take him time. When you look at all of the elite receivers LSU has had, going back to Jarvis and OB, Boutte has been the most impactful. After Marshall left.he really became targeted on 75% of throws. All world receivers Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall took some time to be great and they benefited from an all-time QB and other weapons like Clyde and Moss who made it impossible to defend the whole field. The awesome “ Joe Brady offense” had a lot to do with great players running a great scheme. I believe we will see a couple of freshmen guys start making a mark on the second of the season, but early on, Boutte, Kirklin, and Jenkins will be the main guys. Bech is going to be a star as a hybrid tight end. Just a matter of time. Can’t wait to see this team develop this year.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

It's going to take the freshmen receivers a few games to get comfortable.

If we see the drop rate improve then it will make a massive difference. I dont have the numbers on hand but I remember someone comparing 2018, 2019, and 2020 and 2020 was awful. Hopefully the summer of 10,000 catches was successful the second time around

Did they even do the 10,000 catches?

I just think they need guys who can get separation and catch the ball.

Bech seems to be able to do both.
I know chris hilton will be great when he gets up to speed. Brian thomas is going to be able to catch everything.
Nabers has elite hands and deion smith is so smooth.
