There is No law to limit any privately owned business to pay any amount of wages to employees
Actually, little clarification on this - a lot of states' NIL legislation limits NIL compensation to "market value". What this means (theoretically...more to come) is that the payment has to at least somewhat line up with the actual advertising value to the entity. In other words, you can't pay a kid with 750 IG followers a million bucks for a post. There are online advertising metrics that sort of line up follower count with advertising value, and payments (theoretically) are required to be at least reasonably in line with those metrics.
Now, there are several issues with these purported restrictions: First, it's damn near impossible to enforce unless you have an absolutely egregious example like the one i listed above. Basically, because all these value charts are just one manner of estimating the value of the NIL post or advertisement, the businesses have quite a bit of wiggle room in terms of paying more than the "true market value". Second, even if you could enforce these rules, there's really nobody that wants to enforce them. Louisiana officials aren't about to crack down on effective recruiting measures employed by LSU. And finally: Even though these restrictions are written into many states' NIL legislation, they'd almost certainly be struck down in court if somebody brought suit seeking to do so. Kavanaugh practically begged people to bring them more NCAA-related challenges, and telegraphed that he (and the rest of the Court) were NOT on the NCAA's side.
So, bottom line: Technically there ARE laws that restrict wages in this context. However, for a number of reasons they're unlikely to be enforced and would probably be struck down in court even if they were enforced.

You Sir are welcome to comment anytime. I only wish more would follow your leed and post info to inform people politely on what they know/think . Not a pissing contest. My comment about pay was more to do with the parents pay. But hopefully your info concerning NIL is at least somewhat enforced!!!! Once again GREAT POST!!!!!!

Junior year injury I think, but his athleticism seemed to be taking a little time to return to peak levels. If it does he’s a really good athlete with the ball in his hands.

You are correct on injury. I think he is back jumping thru the roof again though. If he hadn’t gotten injured Junior year- he was guaranteed 5 star status. I think we will see that 5 star athleticism this year. I know that many are bringing up Deion Smith, he may end up the cream of the unGodly good crop this year.

Everyone needs to understand that REC is not the Alabama TAF. That is the Crimson Tide Foundation. The REC is not even a formal club. Nobody knows who is in it. It is a loose collection of boosters that put up money when called upon. No records. They get things done obviously.

Not hard to believe. Said it many times on here even when Bo was first hired here last year to be DC I said the LBs would take a significant step back and they did. He was not a good LB coach the first time. Leaving Bo the LB job was a huge mistake. Obviously we know the DC job was a mistake but this was way overlooked too when he was first hired. I couldn't believe they thought he was a good LB coach. NVM DC as he proved that at LSU first time.
LSU was the most mediocre SEC program with LBs until Chavis came over then Aranda. It was actually our biggest problem area for what seemed like forever in Miles era alongside QB until Chavis did a pretty good job then Aranda worked wonders.

Beer truck drivers might make 70k.
Are you really trying to say tua's family didn't get paid?
Why are you on this board anyway?

Everyone that follows college sports knows that Bama cheated more than any other program over the past 20 years. The only exception is Bama fans. Their identities are so wrapped up in that football program that they can’t just enjoy watching their favorite team win games like many other fans. They have to believe that Bama is the best at everything football all of the time and did it without any cheating. It’s freaking pathetic.

I’m sure They did get paid but him being a “consultant” for 200k is just funny. Or maybe he just busted his arse as a beer truck driver for fun idk

Chavis didn’t do shite, Aranda did an incredible job repairing the LB room.

Uh, what world do you live in? Several LBs turned out to be good under him.

Not exactly. What I said was that maybe he was injured, but I saw more than one receiver flat out run away from him. I think he has excellent press coverage skills and would be very useful in the red zone. But unless he is faster than he showed last year we can’t use him as one of our two main corners. I stand by that.
