Here's an article that mentions Russo, among other QB's. Its from right after the Elite 11 Camp last July.

5. Anthony Russo, Archbishop Wood (Pa.) — verbally committed to Rutgers
Russo has been the best story from the first two days. He wasn't inundated with scholarship offers before committing to Rutgers, drawn to the atmosphere developed by Kyle Flood and the NFL background of new offensive coordinator Ben McDaniels, but has been a standout at Elite 11. "He's done nothing but been awesome," said Dilfer. "This kid's got a chance to be great." Other programs will look back and kick themselves for not getting on board; Rutgers, on the other hand, must be ecstatic.

These kids all look great in their spread offense highlights. Problem with running a pro style offense is that you can't evaluate a kid fully because you have no way to see him under center going through progressions. That said, development becomes the key concept....and LSU doesn't do well in that category. The one positive is that competition will sharpen Harris I assume...wait that didn't work for Ohio State.

If he winds up at LSU, let's hope Russo shows why they were so impressed with him at the Elite 11 camp.
Do you recruiting enthusiasts think he is even still considering Rutgers and if not, who would you expect to be LSU's main competition for him??

Shea believes Temple is in the running.

Kind of my thoughts and question. I didn't see him take one snap under center.

he looks off the CB and the comes back to that WR. Something I haven't seen any of our QBs do.
They've all done it on their high school highlight reel

Watch the highlights a little longer. 6:40 in the video, he takes a snap from under center. It happens a few more times in the video.

You know what a Russo in Louisiana is? La-Russo

How do we know they aren't taking both?
This! The most productive QB duo we have had in the past 15 years was when we took Jamarcus and Flynn in the same class. Let them duke it out, then eventually one sits while one plays, but allow open competition throughout. The program will be better for it and so will the players. Id much rather a stable of 3 to4 star guys over the boom or bust 5 star guys we have been going after lately. I hate saying this, but Bama has proven a serviceable QB is really all you need when they are surrounded by athletes, and we have plenty of those.

Looks like a young Marino... and both from PA
Russo 6'4", 221
Marino 6'4", 228

Bama QBs have not been middling prospects.

No they have not, but they have not been the 5 star super stud either. According to 247, Sims was a low 4 star (.89) and Coker was a mid level 3 star guy (.86). Again, its more of the approach that we do not need to sell out for the 5 star recruit or take nothing, which seems to be our approach of late. Keep the cupboard full with serviceable guys, and it will be ok.

If Russo was interested in the NFL background of Ben McDaniels then he's definitely interested in the NFL background of Cam Cameron with the NFL WR talent we sign and produce. This kid is ours if we want him.
