LSU Tigers Recruiting HEATING UP ahead of 5-Star Visit Weekend!! | Brian Kelly vs. Jimbo

-Terry Bussey coming into town this weekend. Decision 9/28. Aggies are and have been the leader in his recruitment since day 1.
-LSU would have to blow this out of the water. He's been to campus and has some LSU backers in the family.
-Personal opinion is that he will be an Aggie. Small town East Texas kid and A&M relates more.
-George MacIntyre will be in town this weekend. Joe Sloan has worked hard for the top two signal callers in the country for 2025.
-Announcing after his junior season. He visited for the Bama game last year.
-Bryce Underwood and MacIntyre are the only two targets right now.
-Bryce Underdog will be in town for the Auburn game.
-LSU working to flip Gabe Reliford. He was on campus this past last weekend. LSU needs top lineman. LSU offered him in July and playing behind the 8 ball.
-Shea thinks getting him in town for Grambling was big. Getting his "dream offer" was massive. A&M doing everything they can to counter it.
-Trey'Dez Green shoots up in the new rankings over 90 spots
-Huge pass catcher and north of 6'6. Has basketball offers and he is that type of athlete.
-Denbrock adding another stud at TE after landing Pimpton last year.
-Currently the class sits at 8. Shea asked where it finishes and he says no five stars and not many kids left in that range left on the board.
-Shea says top 10 class. When LSU finished top 5 it's because Louisiana has a loaded year and it's not that star studded this year.

We need Reliford in a big way. Honestly, I feel like we could take 3-4 DTs in this class and still not overdo it. I wish we could pull Reliford, McKinley, Hill, and Johnson.

Was thinking the exact same thing when I read that.
LSU to become QBU.
Which leads to the question, would you be ok with no longer being DBU if we could become QBU? (Not saying we can only be one or the other, just curious if people would be ok with that)

Awful strategy to only recruit the top 2 players at the most important position in the game. This might be ok if you had a highly, highly talented qb in 2023 or 2024. we have lost too many close ones for this. This is very, very risky. you don't take this level of risk at the qb position especially with so many deep pocket, desperate schools lurking around.

Your point is valid though I disagree with it.
If any position should be trumpeted as one we should look to the portal for, it's qb. It's the one position where every year will have multiple starter quality guys in the portal. If for no other reason, selfishness and impatience. Only 1 plays per team, per year(perfect world). Qbs with aspirations of the NFL aren't gonna sit for 2-3 years before getting a legit chance to start. Not anymore.
As for the hs kids, I also see no problem honing in on select guys a year from them signing. That doesn't mean they aren't communicating with others. Just not pressing. Do you know how this fanbase would react right now if we took any qb before Underwood commits?
Knowing thats the case, why waste another kids valuable time and resources(or ours) on your school when they could be seeking out a school that wants them and not just if we miss on someone else? Slow playing they call it. Generally our failures with the all in strategy lies with our staff not knowing when they should be pushing in elsewhere, as the Sayin, Mack and McKinley recruitments showed us. All were lost far before we realized we lost all our chips.

First, i stated it was an awful strategy to just recruit 2 qbs. so, if they are recruiting more than 2 its obviously ok to highly prioritize the top 2. Compare the strategy to just the rb strategy (this year) when we are only taking 1 rb(like taking one qb next year). we really only recruited durham at rb but we were able to do this because we could afford to miss on rb this year given what we got in the 2023 class and the instate 2024 class. we can't afford to miss on 2024 qb given the current roster. also, just ask alabama how easy it is to find a high quality qb in the transfer portal just when you need one urgently.

They also keep in touch with Keelon Russell up at D'Ville. Focus is the top 2 but they're still talking with others.

If you have a team with an OL and receivers like LSU, missing on a QB and being forced to find last year's 5 star that is mad about sitting in the bench and getting him to xfer has never been easier.
There are a lot of REALLY talented QB's every year that aren't happy with their initial school decision or simply l0ooking for a better opportunity.
LSU, our OL and receiver corps is a wet dream for just about any QB in HS or looking to transfer.

The Underwood situation just seems to keep going in the right direction. Him and his family seem to have a lot of love for LSU.
Then you gotta account for the Michigan situation. Harbaugh flirts with the NFL every offseason.
Not knowing if the HC is gonna be there for your entire 4 years (or even when you first show up) has to hurt UM.
Kelly on the other hand, isn't going anywhere.

I know he suppose to be at the PSU All White game saturday. I would go also just to say I experienced it and been. I believe Michigan and LSU are the main 2.

Mettenberger, Etling, Burrow and Daniels are inarguably the 4 best QB's at LSU in the last 15 years and they were all transfers.

He meant only two with offers. We are recruiting the kid from Duncanville and Duece Knight very hard right now and they will get an offer if the first ones fall through.
