He is the equivalent of the Vanderbilt Whistler, only more visible.

Me too…he is not an asset! He really is a front runner, obnoxious and aggravating. Handicap 18 is well-informed. He is a true LSU Fan…..driving in from Houston area, for many LSU events. He speaks his mind…

It appears that he is here to stay so it really makes no sense to keep bitching about it

He stopped attending home games in the middle of last season and said he wouldn’t come back. He may still be a presence at some road games, but it’s possible he really isn’t here to stay at home.

Guy loves LSU , I see it both ways. Distraction but you guys have no reason to bitch bet only a handful of you attend softball games. I look at it like if you support the team and attend and he bothers you you have the right to bitch . If you sit at home like me shut the hell up. If he was such a aggravation coaches who tell him hit the road or keep it down. Downvote that’s my take on it.

As another poster stated he’s pretty much the Vandy whistler. Very annoying.

Agree pisses me off. I don’t attend games so I have no business saying anything. When you pay more attention to him then game it’s issue.

I've traveled to several away games he was at...surprisingly not anywhere near as annoying in person. I will admit though it is much more entertaining watching him annoy the home fans when we play on the road.

I really don't think it would be that bad on TV if there wasn't a microphone right in front of him the whole time. He could do whatever he wanted but if we didn't have to hear it I think it would be fine.

Media day was today. I don't know how to link the YouTube video, maybe somebody can help me out with that.

I don't know if I've ever seen coach so candid with the media, I enjoyed her opening statement and she even cracked a joke about them "finally" using the transfer portal to address specific needs on the team. I was honestly indifferent about the start of the season but hearing coach talk about this team has me excited.

She all but confirmed that there were off the field issues last year but it is good to hear that whatever the issue was coach believes it's been fixed. Its also good the hear that the team is getting along well and the core group of starters are stepping up into leadership roles.

Video highlights: She said we will see the freshman pitchers quite a bit in the beginning, she is going to give them the ball and let them get the experience they need knowing Kilponen is right behind them to support them. Catchers will platoon and Carson is committed to helping Maci grow and get better. Redoutey is most improved, outfield is deep and talented, and the team has power up and down the lineup. She also mentioned Newland may see time at second so I think we will see the typical several different lineups and defensive configurations until SEC starts like in years past.

Officially excited for this season to start!

I know it frustrates some, but I've always liked Beth's approach during the early season tournaments. She usually plays a lot of players and looks at many combinations to see what looks best for the conference season.

There's where I always thought I had an advantage as a high school coach in Texas. We get to scrimmage on 5 dates during a 2 1/2 week period before our first game. We get to see a lot of practice innings against other teams. We get to see our strengths & weaknesses a lot earlier & clearer than if we intersquad.

Colleges don't really get that opportunity, so in my observation, that is where I feel Beth uses the tournaments to do her evaluations. Does it cost us a couple of wins? Absolutely, but as a coach, it's a part of getting a true evaluation of your teams. It's just a shame that it penalizes you when the NCAA Tournament selection committee sets up the brackets.

Any reason this isnt a sticky anymore? Itd be nice to be able to check up on recruiting without having to search all over.

A new softball board was started after all the BS on Robocoach last summer. It is a Dicord server which is highly moderated so no BS going on. I dont know if this is agains this boards rules, if it is please delete this post. Here is the link to the Dicord board, LINK This board has a channel for each team and channels for different topics so it is real easy to navigate once you get used to it.

Interesting... I quit looking at the Robocoach forum last year too when there was no moderation at all and so many spam/anonymous posts were flooding that board.

I agree I think it's kind of a more modern approach to a forum. Instead of having to scroll through a bunch of random comments, its display is easy to navigate once you understand it. It's a phone app so it's easier to navigate and respond quicker than a website. It has the option of notifications, so where you can select to just get notifications when someone posts in the LSU chat so you can keep up with it easier. Rather than coming on here or robocoach hoping for chatter or having to sift through your email to see if someone replied.
