We have a stronger class of 2023 recruits than Texas. That is for sure. Extrainnings is WRONG on that one. And I argue stronger than Florida State as well. They have a pitcher in their class so maybe they are giving a little bump because of it. Our 2023 class is full of athletic, powerful, speedy ball players and TX or FSU isn't as deep as LSU's 2023 class. List here. The Extrainnings rankings are included but thehy also did the College Recruit Class Rank too so it is biased.

TEXAS
KATIE STEWART (9)/40 (Best player)
KAYDEN HENRY (5)/3 (Great player)
TEAGAN KAVAN (11)/5
RYAN BROWN (51)/21
VICTORIA HUNTER
ADAYAH WALLACE (99)

LSU
SIERRA DANIEL (7)/38
MCKAELA WALKER (16)
SAVANNA BEDELL (14)/18
MADDOX MCKEE(18)/13
MADYSON MANNING (29)
TORI EDWARDS (21)
JADYN LANEAUX (39)

FSU
ASHTYN DANLEY (2)/22 Good player (not a 2 in my view)
JAYSONI BEACHUM(14) Good player but not 14.
ANGELEE BUENO(11)/41
MIMI GOODEN (NA)
KENNEDY HARP (10)
ISA TORRES (9)/25 Late add but great player.

I would argue no matter how you look at it FSU has the best class out of the three. Mathematically, even though all of our recruits are ranked, their players are all high on the list within their system which is what they used to create the class ranking.

Not to start that debate again but it honestly doesn't matter much if the class is ranked 5 or 15 or 1. The kids have to be a fit for the culture of the program and respond to coaching and adjust to the jump in competition of the SEC once they are here. Nobody is going to care if they were highly ranked if none of that happens.

I disagree with that assessment on its face, although there is a little validity to your argument. However, with that argument there are a couple other schools that should be ahead of FSU that are below all of them. The ExtraInning rankings are indicative but very influenced by relationships and politics. And if you use Perfect Games rankings you have a completely different result (FSU with a 22, 25 & 41 vs 13, 18 and 38).

Aside from the controversial nature of the EI rankings I am very familiar with those kids on the FSU list and several are not worthy of those rankings compared to others in the 2023 class, including LSU's commits. LSU's list of commits collectively are far better players than those on the FSU list. Danley and Torres being the two best from what I've seen.

All of them are obviously very good, but LSU has at least 5 proven high-end, highly-skilled 2023's. FSU is not that, I can assure you. Quite familiar with every kid on this list except the Gooden kid at FSU and the Brown kid at TX.

I agree with updating the rankings on here and just using ExtraInningSB and Perfect Game. Would not consider Softball America. The class of 2024 recruits is impressive!!

Agree w/LSUFan. Might take that up myself if TigerBait doesn't do it, as they have already done a great job with this conversation thread for us softball fans.

Could you add the Perfect Game rankings to the 2023s as well TigerBait?? This might save you some time. Poached the 2024 list from a TX forum that includes 2024 rankings in both. Perfect Game has a solid reputation as a publication. Guessing PG and Extra Innings are the two apparent authorities right now.

LSU: Grade A
Jayden Heavener (#2 EI/Ranked #4 in PG) Once ranked #1 in the class.

*Samya Jones (#4 EI/Ranked #2 in PG) Once ranked #1 in the class.

Destiny Harris (#6 EI/Ranked #38 in PG)

Zoe Calvez (#5 EI/Not ranked in PG)

Jada Philips (#17 EI/Not ranked in PG)

Alix Franklin (#27 EI/Not ranked in PG)

HERE ARE THE 3 2023's WHO MADE THE PERF GAME RANKINGS:
MADDOX MCKEE #13 in Perfect Game

SAVANNA BEDELL #18 in Perfect Game

SIERRA DANIEL #38 in Perfect Game

Taylor Edwards has transferred to the University of Houston. Happy for her, never saw much time on the field here but she should get a lot more playing time now.

Agree. Good move for her. I had totally forgotten she was on the team. Looked back and looked like she has a TOTAL of 7 innings experience over 2 years. I hear she's a good kid though.

I think Karrington may be a regular student now. I have no hard facts, but from her social media she still has LSU softball in her bio and has a story about her “last ride” and its all pictures at LSU. I think she might just want to enjoy her last year of school and support her little sister.

Here is the answer, she has been on campus finishing up her degree. The next question is why is her sister no longer showing up on the roster on the LSU Web page? Has she left the team and the portal news has not hit?
