LSU signee Quency Wiggins turning heads in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Back in August, the team 247Sports rolled out its inaugural “freaks” list. It was a group of 50 prospects from the class of 2022 that in one way or another stood out as different from the pack.

While almost everyone that made the list had some type of verified marker that separated them from a majority of their peers, sitting No. 44 in the rankings was Quency Wiggins – a relatively unknown defensive lineman from Louisiana. There's social media footage of Wiggins throwing down a dunk but measurables were unconfirmed and there was zero testing data.

After measuring in at just a shade under 6-foot-5, 275 pounds on Monday and being named the MVP of 247Sports’ All-Lobby Team, Wiggins held his own during the first two practice sessions and got the best of blue-chip offensive linemen like Kiyaunta Goodwin, Elijah Pritchett and Hunter Herb.

"I'm going to be playing everywhere – from inside to outside," Wiggins said.

Wiggins totaled 56 tackles, 13 sacks, four pass break ups and three forced fumbles as a senior. He is currently ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 9 defensive lineman in the class of 2022.
