That was the rumor of the amount Florida lined up for Torrence. Who knows if that is true, but Florida (Napier ) is the reason Garner and Torrence entered the portal in the first place. Rob Sale also recruited and coached Torrence his first 2 years in college.

It will be hilarious if they both go elsewhere

A kid from St Helena parish becomes a hero in that parish if he ends up at LSU.

It’s amazing how many misses O and staff had. It was like they looked at stars only and just neglected some of theses kids play there senior year.

I could see lacy committing.

Hopefully him and garner committing will help torrence pull the trigger.

Man, the LSU staff has dropped the ball on a lot of Louisiana offensive line talent the last few years. ULL alone has gotten Torrence, Max Mitchell, and Kevin Dotson from within the state, and those guys are absolute studs.

Would think Torrence has to announce any minute. Florida board says he’s been on campus but grain of salt…

Even with the offers he’s gotten, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t wind up with Napier and Sale at UF.

I would think florida or lsu.

I'm not counting brian kelly out yet.

I'd be surprised if lacy doesn't commit to lsu.

Tre' mond shorts would be a pretty good get also.

I'll be shocked if Torrence doesn't end ip at Florida. He's got a preexisting relationship with the head coach and OL/OC. Pretty much plug and play for him within Napier/Sale's system. Might be hard for him to pass on that but we'll see.

Years and years of flopping on big name linemen and not filling out the class with enough quality guys really screwed us. It was painful seeing how shite our ol recruiting was every year

He is a monster at guard.

His feet are so quick especially at his size.

Lsu's right guard from day 1.

Yep. Plus Robert Hunt from Toledo Bend just over on the Texas side.

All 4 are or will soon be NFL linemen. Mitchell will be at the Senior Bowl and combine in the next couple of months and is expected to be a round 2-3 guy

Per 24/7:

- Dotson had a 2* composite rating in 2015, didn't have a profile photo on their site, was ranked 112 in the state overall and 136 nationally at OG, and was offered by Southern.

- Mitchell had no composite rating in 2018, didn't have a profile photo on their site, and had no position, state, or national ranking. He was offered by Ark-Monticello, Millsaps, Northwestern, and Ouachita Baptist.

- Torrence had a 3* composite rating in 2019, was 64th overall in the state and 145 OT nationally, and was offered by La Tech, MTSU, and Prairie View before UGA came in late.

This past year, Napier signed Kamryn Waites in July, after summer camp started, when Waites hadn't even played football since junior high. Now Waites is at UF, but it remains to be seen if he will turn out to be another diamond in the rough.

More recently, Napier flipped a 3* OL from Texas whose only other offer was from UL.

These guys were NOT big names. Of course, the recruiting services rank their guys based on the offers they get, and they're not going to give guys stars when their offer lists look like these.

One of the reasons I would have liked to see Napier at LSU (not to the exclusion of anyone else) is that he (and Sale) have a track record of identifying underrated OL talent and developing them. Part of that was borne out of necessity because UL wasn't drawing interest from 4* and 5*. But beyond that, Napier targeted players for specific reasons, which clearly paid off.

My son (Mackey Maillho) fits the same mold as Torrence and others - 6-8, 350 lbs, 3*, few offers, no high rankings, etc. Camped at LSU before the pandemic but never drew any interest. Like Torrence and Sophser, Mackey beat up on Jacobian Guillory two years ago in the playoff game at Mandeville. For whatever reason, he didn't get that much attention. So it was a no-brainer for him to accept the UL offer.

Anyway, the point of this is that Napier is very good at this, and with one exception no P5 schools were in on these kids.

And no one but Napier/Sale recognized their potential.

LSU fans would have lost their shite if Miles or Orgeron offered any of these kids.
