Clemson's class is one for the ages, no way we overtake them.
If we end up with a top 5 class, I will be happy.

The only issue I have with the 247 composite is the "weighted" system. If you look at it now we have 21 recruits, the same as Ohio St. We have a higher average 92.28 vs 92.09 but still end up below OSU in point total by 4 points. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Good catch... I agree that is a big flaw. In the end though, these rankings don't matter.

Kansas being ranked #25 is impressive. Right ahead of Texas, Tennessee, and Stanford.

247 is the better recruiting service and a better depiction of actual rankings.
Rivals has made up a lot of ground on them. Some of the 247/Scout veterans like JC Shurburtt and Justin Hopkins have stepped aside from the national side of it.
Chad Simmons is a heavyweight. Hardest-working guy in the business in my opinion.
He was my boss as Scout. I don’t even think he likes me, but I respect him a great deal.

247 should make Sonny Shipp a national analyst. I’m sure he’s been offered the gig before.
He might make too much money with the team site to even consider switching.

Agree. I was a member of Rivals for a LONG time. I loved the national board and ease of access to everything on the site. I became disenchanted with the mods
Hey now - I resemble that remark!!!!

Sonny has young kids, he ain’t gonna do the traveling a National position requires.

On a philosophical note-You have attained a maturity about people very few people and no woman ever will achieve. Jesus my wife melts when I compliment the abilities of people that aren’t on Team Pimp. And it’s never been a problem for me.

When you work for a recruiting service do you ever go to an office? Or do you just work on your own out of your house or hotel rooms?

Back in the day, when Noah Stanley ran Rivals, some of their national guys worked out of a headquarters in Brentwood, Tennessee.
I interviewed over the phone with Shurburtt around 2005 for a job there, but I didn’t get hired.
At Scout, I rarely left the house. One reason for that is I couldn’t get them to pay my expenses.
I had to pay for a cheap motel in Port Allen to cover the LSU camp. I couldn’t afford anything more upscale.
I had to pay for my airline ticket to cover the US Army game, and they assigned me to go to San Antonio. Paid for my own rental car there.
All my meals on the road and the gas consumed gong to combines - like the NUC stuff back when it was popular, The Opening Regional and SPARQ events - all came out of my pocket.
That’s one reason I quit before my contract was up.

i can e-vouch for this...

pimp is good people, even though we don't see eye to eye on a lot of issues... i'd still have a beer with him, IRL, if he wanted to...

So are we switching over to rivals boys?
I think Someone should make a team recruiting ranking system based off team needs. Like ConeHawk said the 247 team recruiting rankings are way too top heavy and based mainly on how many 5 stars you land.

Yea, I was just reporting what rivals had. These recruiting services are way off on some players. Depends on who is recruiting them I suppose.

Yes, and that unquestionably is a very good thing.

Clemson is short signing this year aren’t they?
Bama is over signing, 27 they said.
If we hit on Evans we could possibly pass Clemson unless they pick up a few more 5*’s.
I’m not saying it’s probable, but it is possible.
