And 247 LSU goes from 283 to 284. WOW?!?! 1 3 star is worth a whole point! This crap makes about as much sense as a talking jackass!

247 is the better recruiting service and a better depiction of actual rankings.

The amount of points given depends on national ranking.

I agree that 247 typically does a better job, but Rivals currently has LSU's class pegged more accurately IMO.

They have Toles as a 6.0 4 star which is a bit too high imo, and Marlon Martinez may be more of a 5.6 or maybe 5.7 than a 5.5 3 star, but I really don't have much beef with any of their other rankings of LSU's current commits.

Pretty spot on based on film I've watched.

It's an algorithm that is very top heavy. You're highest recruit is worth waaaaay more than your lowest recruit. That's why Taylor doesn't contribute much.

Last guy in- 3 star guys that caused star gazers to groan-see if you recognize a trend:

Russel Gage
Justin Jefferson

Rivals is the best recruiting sight and easiest to navigate by far. 247 needs a different and easier to read website

So what do you think? Do you believe Taylor should be of more value than they attributed to him, or do you think they have it right?

247 is the better recruiting service overall but Rivals has the better team rankings format. I'm still not sure how 247s system works.

But both sites have become biased with certain areas and recruits that attend their individual sponsored camp events.

I’ve never heard anything but bashing towards Rivals and their ranking methods until this thread.

Their individual ratings are suspect sometimes but I prefer the way they handle team rankings with the points and top 20 recruits of each school to make up the avg.

For sure. Anyone who says Clemson CURRENTLY doesn’t have the best class is delusional.

Exactly. Another reason why I don't give a lot of credit to these star ratings. I mention it because it doesn't make much sense to me. Morris Claiborne was a 2 star, Tyson Jackson was a 3 star. Some guys just need more time to develop. These team rankings do have it's place, mostly because a lot of these recruits pay attention to it. From that perspective it has it's place. But the true measure of a class is how well they play and develop after 2 or 3 years. LSU's 1982 class was rated as the 30th in the country and next to last in the SEC. But it produced some very good players and future NFLer's. Roland Barbay, Karl Wilson, Dalton Hilliard, Garry James, Mitch Andrews and Shawn Burks. Jeff Wickersham was drafted but didn't make the team.
