Today Tori Tatum accepted a full athletic scholarship to LSU.

She trains at one of the best gyms in the entire country at Twin City Twisters. She one of the best junior elites in the entire country on bars, also very good on floor. Her beam is much much better this year too, she has improved a lot.

She has been training a double twisting yurchenko. For those who don't know what that is, its the vault that Gnat competed. Its extremely difficult and not done by many college gymnasts due to its difficulty.

She is now the second commit in the 2021 class with Aleah Finnegan.

2021? Dang people would get their panties in a wad if it was for a men's sport.

She was invited to the national team camp not long ago, she's legit. We have been recruiting some very good bar workers lately

She was only 13 years old. Major talent on the way with four more years to develop her skills.

Outstanding recruits! I also have my fingers crossed that we get Trinity Thomas.

Trinity is being recruited by LSU, Alabama and Florida right now. She follows a lot of LSU athletes on her instagram. Would not surprise me to see us land her but no one seems to know where she is heading right now, she is very quiet on her future plans.

I thought she was also high on UCLA and likewise the Bruins high on her? Did UCLA run out of scholarships for 2019?

Just curious, most of the big time recruits are committing at age 14 to 16 which is 3 to 4 years before enrollment. Is there a gentlewoman's agreement among gymnastic coaches tor respect the commitment unless the gymnast backs out for some reason? Do the other coaches ever try to flip them ( no pun intended) as football and basketball coaches do?

So in the US Classic, two girls for LSU competed, Olivia Dunne and Elena Arenas.

Olivia had a nice floor routine, needs to clean up the landings but she had been dealing with ankle injury. Had an awesome bars routine, she was doing great until the last segment, she completely fell short on a handstand which to me incurred a .300 deduction minimum to me and she had a pirouette right before the dismount that she completely messed up on, that part was at least .500 of a point. She hit it in practice well just accidentally messed it up. Beam she scored a 14.000 which is extremely impressive, a couple balance checks but she is a beamer. She only competed a full on vault during the classics, I expect an upgrade sometime soon.

Elena did well despite being held back lately and coming back from a few injuries. Really beautiful bars routine, an amazing bar worker, needs to continue to fix the slight leg seperations. She got hammered on floor by the judges. She had a great Double Twisting Yurchenko, among one of the highest vault scores in the classic. She had a little too much power and had a step on the landing.

At the classic, most the girls were dealing with injuries and getting back into competition form, its been a while. A lot are doing new routines with upgrades so the kinks were expected to be seen this meet. Also the judging was extremely harsh at times, Elena got a ridiculous floor score even though her landings weren't perfect. The judges were extremely harsh with the deductions for almost everyone.

Also with the new code, the scores are much lower so if you see that the scores are in the 13's, its fine. 13's are the new 14's, 15's the new 16. They have changes the requirements for routines and the difficulty values, now you will see a lot more variety in routines since you can't repeat some of the same skills.

P&G Championships are in August!
