Not to be negative but is Hezly actually gonna do college? The timeline just feels like it works against it. Is she coming to LSU right after LA in '28? If she doesn't, is she coming the next year to be a freshman at 21 yrs old?

If she's 18 now she'd be 20. She would have 4 years to complete. Now that she can earn NIL $ elites are more likely to come to college

She’ll be 20 when she gets to campus and ncaa is much more forgiving on body then elite. She’ll be able to make bank and get a free education with current rules in place. She could end up doing 2-3 events depending on how her body is when she gets here but plan was for her to always come in 2028
Given how loaded the 2027 class is and current 5 for 5 rule lsu will be fine to wait until then

Does anyone else find it premature for Tatum to decide to defer for LA? The competition is very intense and she didn’t do great after American classic.

I was kind of surprised when she made the announcement that she was deferring but I guess if it’s been a dream of hers to make the Olympic team, why not go for it? I wish her the best.

She likely isn’t going to be a serious contender but can’t fault her for trying this is her only chance.

Bama has some of the top L10 recruits and Caroline Moreau (elite) visiting this weekend. It's that time. Anyone know how many openings that LSU has for this recruiting season?
ETA: OU visited Charleigh Bullock in her home recently. That surprises me. Bullock does not seem the OU type. It looks like KJ Kindler is getting into the elite scene since she coached Stassi at championships.

It’s a little complicated. Technically, LSU would have had 3-4 spots for this recruiting season however due to the 5in5 rule they will want to keep a few people for a fifth year. Meaning they are likely going for 1-2 max

This also surprises me given the interview she did on the All Things Gymnastics Podcast back in September of last year. The Michigan twins who do that podcast asked her which colleges she had an interest in as of that time of year that were her top choices and I don't remember her listing OU as one of them

She’s a top recruit and OU is a top program. I’m not surprised she is in conversation with them. I think she is more interested in Florida and LSU.

Yes it is a top program but I don’t see her fitting in there At ALL IMHO. Especially if she wants to continue elite in college, LSU, Florida and UCLA are much better fits for her as they have coaches with more experience in that world and more girls on the team who still do both. Also, based on a quick social media scroll, she seems much closer to the LSU elite commits, especially Hezly than any other program

Tigerbait, are there any recruits visiting LSU Gymnastics this coming weekend? The recruits usually start the visits with the first ballgame
