QB and OL are the most difficult positions to predict coming out of high-school. So stars gazing for these positions really isn't really the right way to look at it. You need good talent evaluation on staff (not high star ratings from rivals), player development, and luck, mostly luck.

Dude, the last 5 Bama QB’s have National Championship rings. Are you really that dumb? Perrilloux couldn’t start at LSU and you want us to believe he’s gonna start at a program that is light years ahead of LSU. You embarrass yourself.
Other than Tagovaiola which of those BAMA quarterbacks would have excited the board.
MCarron? John Parker Wilson? Sims? Hurts? Coker when he transferred from Florida State?

All these posts claiming that LSU doesn't recruit top-tier QBs is getting kind of old. They always have for a long time. However, Les Miles was the head coach for a long time and hence, most QBs avoided LSU like the plague for a long time because of it.
Now Miles is gone and O very much wants to go after top tier QBs, but it's going to take a little time. In fact, that's one of the reasons O recently got rid of Canada. He wants an RPO offense with 3 to 4 wideouts, which is the direction LSU is finally moving towards. Now, all we need is some success and the QB situation will turn itself around. Meanwhile, nobody knows that better than O.

Uh....I was at the 2007 SEC Championship game. You weren’t. So, no I’m not too young to remember. Does the name Jonathan Zenon ring a bell? And, 2 INT’s in the last 10 minutes of the game by Erik Ainge had a little bit to do with the outcome don’t you think?
First off, stop giving yourself an upvote because you're insecure about getting multiple downvotes.
Second, your response quoted above is a textbook definition of "missing the point." Perrilloux was a legit QB who screwed up and got kicked off the team before he got a chance to be the starter. He was the understudy to a national champion QB that went on to play in the NFL for damn near a decade, even if he was a backup. As was already mentioned, he only got one start, it was in the SEC championship, and he was named mvp. He was even good enough to be drafted out of Jacksonville state (no small feat at such a scrutinized position). Any counterpoint you throw out is null and void—Perrilloux was very, very good.
Also, the recruiting page is not the appropriate forum to diss recruits, former players, current players, former coaches, current coaches, or LSU—that's what the Rant is for. I'm RA'ing this to be moved and anchored.
Don't be such a tool.

You’re literally too stupid to insult.
Have a good day.

First,

Who comments like that, besides an immature kid?
Secondly, you must of been in the bathroom when Perriloux won the MVP.

I was there, I seent it.

Good point. If you go back and see how the top 10 QB recruits panned out it's really amazing at the fail rate.

Ryan Perriloux could sling a football, dude had a perfect throwing motion, firing the ball right over the ear like they teach you to do and putting nothing but tight spirals up in the air. He was just smooth with the football in his hands when he briefly played for LSU. Payton should have taken a chance on the kid, but oh yeah, he doesn't believe in LSU talent for some idiotic reason even though Devery Henderson gave him some good years. Perriloux did eventually get on with the Patriots, but his head was still not really in the game, immaturity reasons, and he wound up getting bounced out of the league.

LSU has recruited good quarterbacks, the problems is they have done a poor job of developing them and catering the offense to their skills sets. Every since Jumbo left, every quarter we had under center looks exactly the same. Kiffin turned Sims, a back up running back into a 4000 yard passer. We have to know what offense we want to run and recruit those qbs that run that offense from high school

Jesus Christ you're dumb

Edit: Perrillouxs 247 page
You don't think the number 1 rated quarterback in the country could have started at LSU? Perrilloux would have started at ANY school in the nation. He was ultra talented. Either you're really young and just don't know any better or you're just incredibly stupid. Sorry to be so harsh but when someone says shite as dumb as you have, they deserve to be called out on it.

Wht do y'all think the reason for this was? With all of these guys you figured by dumb luck one would hit.
What reason could none of these guys perform at our program.

They were handcuffed. No one misses on that many highly touted recruits in a row. Youve got to look at the common denominator.
Look at what they ran in highschool then look what we tried to make them run.
Almost everyone of them had to relearn the position once they got to college and they were no longer allowed to do the things that got them where they were.
We had no identity at the quarterback position. We were just star seeking and hoping to strike gold

Rpo Jordan Loving does this well!!! But lsu will never let there qbs do what they do well it’s a fact!!!

I'm sure someone has pointed this out already but just so we're clear here guy...these are the recruits and rankings when we took them in no order using composite rankings at the position..guys we took commits and relied on for snaps and development..
Ryan Perilloux- #2 dual threat
Jarret Lee- #12 pro style
Jordan Jefferson- #11 pro style
Gunner Kiel- #1 pro style
Anthony Jennings- #5 dual threat
Hayden Rettig- #5 pro style
Brandon Harris- #3 dual threat
Myles Brennan-#6 pro style
Lowell Narcisse- #7 dual threat
All of these kids were blue chip/Elite prospects at the national high school level. I could throw in some lower ranked 3 star guys but won't....
It's like....you did know this right??? Almost every year LSU brings in a top 10 player at the position. It's development that hasn't taken place. Or just pure busted out talent that never reached potential...more of those than anything else among former QBs in the last decade.

Brennan and Lowell won't change shite if we don't have anyone to develop them. Who do we have to develop them?
