At this point wouldn't it be easier to make a list of players in the portal LSU has NOT contacted?

There are over 1,000 players in the Portal. Still, while who LSU has contacted might not be super useful it does shed some light on the direction MM is trying to head.

It does seem like we are contacting everyone, but so is everyone else. Just about every transfer has us listed as in contact with about 12 other teams. The townson guy is the only one I’ve seen us separated from the pack with an actual in home visit.

I think the more interesting note is the fact, at this point, it doesn't appear any LSU players have entered the portal. This, despite the fact LSU only has one player from this past season with no remaining eligibility (KJ Williams). LSU has two HS signees and is clearly active in the portal. That means, at minimum, one more current player from this roster has to leave to make room for one of the HS signees.
Eventually, you are going to see some LSU guys enter the portal. It is inevitable. But it is slightly encouraging that despite such an awful season it doesn't look like guys were just waiting for the season to end to hurry up and transfer. Compare that with South Carolina who had just as bad a year as LSU and already has 4 guys in the portal.

McMahon has stressed building relationships with players and recruits. I was very interested to see if that would translate to higher rated players, and it seems like it has, at least with this group of players.
On another note, when do yall think we start seeing some names fall? I'm assuming a lot of these players will hold out until the tournament is over to talk to some of the teams still competing. Likewise, I think the coaching staff is probably keeping eyes on a couple guys who may be entering the portal after the tournament.

It's very concerning that no one has entered the portal. Maybe MM hasn't done any exit meetings yet or he doesn't have plans to process guys out of the program, which lets be honest...we just went 2-16 in conference, some of these dudes need to find another pasture to graze in.
MM to my knowledge hasn't done a end of the year press conference, just seems like he is hiding.

Not really. It could be that guys considering a transfer are, through backchannels, trying to figure out where they are going to go before jumping into the portal. It's still early in the process.

I don't recall Wade doing any "end of the year" press conferences either. No one cared about MM's press conferences during the season. Why would they care about an end of the year conference? And frankly, I couldn't care less if he has one or not. I don't need to hear him tell me why the season went wrong and what he's going to do to fix it. Just fix it!

Just like I said in another thread, there's nothing he can say at this point to generate fan interest or make this past season feel any better. Getting players is the only way to do that

Yep, plus some guys will get recruited over and decide to transfer when lsu gets a commitment from some of these incoming transfers
McMahon had a shitty year, but I don’t think he’s stupid. I think he knows this group as currently constructed isn’t gonna cut it
