It sounds like Mike Williams will make his decision this fall. Clemson is the other team with momentum for him.

LSU needs to add guards to the ‘23 recruiting class.

I've been reading online in a few places that the no. 2 player in the nation in 24 Ian Jackson is trending to LSU. He plays at the power Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx. He's officially visiting us in the next week or two, and supposedly the Morant connection with McMahon is big factor in his recruitment. Plus, we are LSU, and that's a top brand nationwide.

He begins his visit today

Also, ‘23 four-star G Mike Williams will announce his commitment Sunday at 2 CT on the 247Sports channel. The six finalists are: Clemson, DePaul, LSU, Syracuse, VCU, and Wake Forest.

Today is the first day of the early signing period. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t appear as though Corey Chest or Mike Williams will be early signees.

Cody Williams will announce this morning but he’s trending to Colorado.

Is there an unwritten rule that once a player commits, coaches do not try to flip the commitment like they do in football?

Does lsu have a shot with aj johnson?

Down to Louisville, Texas, and lsu.

Sounds like it's texas with lsu making a strong push.

Texas is thought to be the favorite. Obviously Texas is a good program. But the thought seems to be Texas is a big favorite because Johnson's close friend, Jalen Green, plays for the Rockets. I get it. But it's not like Baton Rouge is terribly far from Houston. Particularly by plane.

I think McMahon is really pushing the angle that Johnson can play in a similar style as Ja Morant at LSU, whereas Texas under Chris Beard likes to play more of a grind it out defensive game. A style that is great in college. But not all that conducive to a kid wanting to develop quickly for the NBA.

McMahon proved last season he can get some guys with the class he put together late. But if he can land at top 10 player in year one I think it further starts to put to rest some of the recruiting concerns

EDT: Johnson committed to Texas today. So scratch him off the list

Anyone worried about the 2023 roster at this point? I’m guessing we’ll lean on the transfer portal heavily? The roster looks pretty bleak for next year.

While KJ Williams leaving will be big, don't we return everyone else?

Conceivably, yes. But LSU signing 2 guys in the early signing period seems to suggest they won't return everyone.
