Sorry, man. I won’t submit. Love LSU and watching LSU sports, but I love my liberty and my kids and grandkids more.

Politics aside...heard Wade on 104.5 say that Brian Penn-johnson has signed and he feels very, very good that he will get his waiver. Says O'Neal should be good to go as well. Wade said LeBlanc is the one they are working on.

Yep...roster should be ready for a run. I really want LeBlanc at least eligible for after the mid-semester break if possible. I think he will help out a lot defensively.

Sounds like worse case scenario LeBlanc will be eligible by semester break.

LeBlanc is probably the one who could give you the biggest impact right away. Unlike the other two, he was able to practice with the team much of last season (second semester). So he is familiar with what Wade wants to do. More than that, he's a really good defender. God knows LSU is desperate for someone to play defense.
Penn-Johnson is someone who will get minutes, but I don't think he's going to be a huge contributor (still a bit raw). O'Neal is a bit of an unknown. He has good size and seems to be a guy who can do a lot of things well (though maybe not one thing exceptionally well).

Oneal is reporting to now to be up to 240 lbs. I believe he will be a greater impact than what people think. Shaq is getting him prepared.

I think Penn Johnson may surprise us. The way Thomas can score, Watford can score and dish, Smart can as well. All they need to do is throw it up and PJ can flush it.
It should be an entertaining season.

That's exceptional, I wonder if they are thinking of testing O'Neal at the 5 spot if he maintains that weight. Even so, he's a prototypical stretch 4 and the added bulk will surely help him dominate on the inside when he needs to. There are many videos from a while back, when Shareef was in high school, of Shaq coaching him up. And with the opportunity at hand I'm positive they are both working tremendously on Shareef's game together in preparation.

It will be fun to see Shaq at the games.

Does anyone now how we sit with Jabari Smith, Jr? I keep seeing our name mentioned in articles about him, but it never really lists a leader. I'm hoping we can pull the 5-star legacy, but it sounds like Bruce Pearl is also pushing for him.

May need Shaq to lean on Jabari to pair their sons

Oh, you betcha! And with Amirah coming to LSU as well, Shaq now has an additional reason to show for games.

Heck, let the man DJ a pre-game event or two (not sure how much of that can be done this season). But still, he is one of the biggest names within LSU history. Just wish there were a way to get him more involved with the basketball program without crossing any lines or NCAA bylaws. From a recruiting standpoint, I'd be very interested in LSU if Shaq sat down next to me, and had an elaborate conversation with him, while on my recruiting visit to LSU. I wish he could also partially mentor some of the guys on the team.

Leblanc has been on campus since December and not cleared to play. Yet Taylor Taglovola who transferred to Maryland this summer is eligible. Either we have transfer rules or we don’t.

Wade confident in C from Washington and ONeiland not confident in Leblanc

I believe it's more along the lines of getting LeBlanc eligible to play. Best case scenario he gets cleared before the season starts. Worst case, he gets cleared midseason right as next semester begins. That's the only reason why I didn't have him in my starting lineup projections. Plus I think he is in a great spot to lead the 2nd unit since he understands Wade's philosophy now and defensive-minded guys seem to usually be good leaders.
For the 4 and 5 spots currently, we are looking at a mix of Watford, O'Neal, Days, and Penn-Johnson (and potentially Gray if he has added bulk). Once LeBlanc becomes eligible he can be added right into the 3, 4, and 5 mix. That will then allow Wade to do the same for Days.
Either way once LeBlanc is eligible the squad will have amazing revamped rotations at the 3 and 4 spots.
Like I said in a different thread, the possibilities of what Wade will get to do are endless and I think he will test out quite a few lineups before he figures out what works best in which situations.

My comments was about getting waivers and waivers alone. Wade said very very good chance C from wash get it. Pretty good chance O’Neal gets waiver and 50/50 about Leblanc getting waiver.

Why do people think Days can play the 3? He’s a pure post player who can shoot. Watford played some 3 last year, but I don’t remember Days playing any.
