I’ve never wanted anyone to make good going into the portal more than Mic Paul. I hope that dude goes somewhere solid and is an all conference player

I couldnt agree with you more. Got to know Mic pretty well. It's quite obivious he's a fine young man for CJJ to allow him to join the team in Omaha even though he was leaving.

I'll continue to text with him to see how he is.

Trent Caraway from Oregon state in the portal. 3B and power bat. Hit 6 homers in postseason.

I was hoping Costello would stay. I think he has a bright future

My money is on either Larson or Brown at 1B next year.

Whoever’s not at 1B will be in RF.

IMO two way players are fools gold. Not great at either position.

Paul Skenes would like a word.

I don't recall Skenes ever batting at LSU.

He came here as a two-way player. Hit 24 HR at Air Force.

35 but they are all on scholarship. Anyone gets a rash of pitching injuries is fricked

I wonder if this will cause a different approach to roster building. Taking a few position players with pitching background.

What I was trying to point out is you never get a player to truly excel when he has to concentrate on pitching, hitting and fielding a critical position. I highly doubt Skenes would have become a pitching phenom if Jay would have continued to ask him to catch and hit also.

Ever heard of Jac caglianone with Florida? He seemed to be pretty good. I realize he was extra special. just pointing out you can't just be dismissive of the possibility

I don't think this is the way to look at it. You need to get players that excel at different postions, reducing the number of position players you need. Keep getting the same number of pitchers and let them concentrate on pitching.
