Very banged up on offense/defense, but not so much on the mound. I think almost every (maybe every) starting position player was banged up or lost. Moore was lost on the mound, Evans was banged up, and Schmidt ended up a scratch late in the season but we were otherwise healthy on the mound. We just absolutely sucked on the mound, except for a few outstanding performances along the way. I'm normally not that blunt, but it is what it is.

just all 3 of our starters
by the end of the year we were throwing 2 bullpen games a weekend with a shakybullpen.

Kind of off topic but I just saw an interview of Mikey Ryan (I think from Garland Gillen) and I am no longer rooting for him lol.
I think the first words out of his mouth were "that's what happens when you lose me" referencing LSU missing the tournament.
Then he followed that up with a comment having a chip on his shoulder about not playing at LSU and proving that he was "the player he thought he was" and the "coaching staff here (NC State) helped me get to where I am."
My man, you were not going to play over either of the professional baseball players in the middle infield last year and then you entered the portal before the super regional. At no point were you disrespected by LSU.
Don't want to bring that over to the rant but had to get that off somewhere.
ETA: if you watch the interview (Sorry for not having it handy) you'd think he was a 4 year player who was benched by LSU over and over again for lesser players who then took his team to the college world series. NC State got in by the skin of their teeth.

Still makes zero sense that he transferred. He would have been the day 1 2nd basemen. But whatever he wanted to play SS and wasn’t gonna beat out Milam.

No matter how good he was this year, he wouldn't have started over Milam, nor should he have.
Anyway, the usual LSU twitter people are implying something good happened without actually saying the good thing. Just posting vague, positive gifs.

Mikey Ryan thinks we were 1 Mikey Ryan away from making the NCAAT.
That’s a take.
That’s a take.

And his nc state team got in the tourney due to the coach retiring. Screwed Mercer from getting that large. Nc state stinks

Unless he was going to give us 40-50 innings on the mound he wasn't making a difference in this team making a regional.

Second base cost us multiple games because of the shitty defense. Let’s stick the pride in our pockets he could’ve definitely helped.

Only if he were willing to play there.

But he wanted to play SS. And he left before we had signed anyone out of the portal.

Ryan was the best hitter in LA coming out of high school
You can blame the portal for high schoolers getting the short end of the stick
He wasn't ready because I think he had all of one hit in the fall while he was at LSU
He won't be adding any hardware this season and I would be willing to bet LSU would be in regionals playing an ACC schedule
