Todd Whiting just got let go at Houston if anyone wants to start portal shopping.

I definitely think Jordan will be moving on after the season. That would be a good landing spot for him.

He is a draft risk but Tre Broussard would be an awesome get.

Schnall to South Carolina
Or was him "pulling his name out" of the running just his version of saving face?

I think you have to be offered a job to be able to take it.

Armstrong said that the Jake Brown camp believes he is first rounder next year, so might come back
This 5 for 5 thing voted on May 22nd could help us with Brown and Milam

I tried to watch but YouTube was being stupid again

I’d love for that to be true but I won’t get my hopes up

Speaking of, seeing the Milam family posts this weekend on social media, any hope of him coming back (some people on the rant claimed to be plugged in on that and said he was coming back) seem to be gone.

Just don’t see Brown coming back. Would love it I just don’t see it happening.

Odds a very low for Hirshkorn, Milam, Brown or Curiel. I think even Armstrong would agree. These are just things he is hearing from his sources.
The only chance we have with any of them will be because they fell in the draft lower than expected. If they get a fair offer they will probably all be gone.
This really applies to a lot of high level recruits. Jay's job is to convince them that their number should be high and to stick to their number

Armstrong also mentioned how there were quite a few recruits we showed interest in but didn't land. Then asked the question if NIL could have been the reason.
I noticed the same thing during the portal season last year. That was before Jay publicly complained about the money.
Imagine if you are Jay and you and the staff work your tails off recruiting but lose out because of lack of funds. You go to your plan B guys and things don't work out with them.
I'm not privy to any specifics but there could be some truth to this. I hope Jay gets all the money he needs to retain and pursue the players he wants. He's going to be a man on a mission this off-season.
On top of that he might bring in a little training for the catchers and reconsider pitching approach.

Jay needs to get the $ he demands. And of story.

Guess we'll see if Verge holds up his end of the deal.

But who is LSU trading signing classes with? Jay signed a consensus top 3 class.
Kiley McDaniel updated his top 150 prospects. LSU players of interest:
#17 Derek Curiel
#28 Logan Schmidt LHP signee
#52 Jake Brown
#54 Jensen Hirschkorn RHP signee
#83 Malachi Washington OF signee
#86 Deven Sheerin
#91 Will Adams 1B signee
#115 Lucas Nawrocki LHP signee
#124 Kolby Stringer RHP signee
#125 Nathaneal Davis OF signee
# 146 Anthony Murphy OF signee

It's definitely being said by those as close as possible to the situation that Brown and Milam are returning but I think this just happens a lot because guys want to do 2 things at once. I don't think there's anyway Brown will be able to pass up his offer. Milam may depend on the offer.

It's kind of sad to see it become mostly about money. It's ruined football for me. Recruiting is about a money bag, flips, skipping bowl games, scared to tackle. I hope baseball doesn't go to far down that path.
NIL isn't just portal. Retaining players, what can we offer Brown and Milam for them to up their asking price from the MLB? Keeping players out of the portal. Getting high-school players to campus.
Baseball doesn't really generate money and that might be a good thing. Money is definitely becoming a factor though. Jay has said in the past he doesn't put much money into high-school players, with the exception of some first round talent. He might be changing his tune. Does his comment about wanting to retain and develop more mean that his funds flow more there than the portal? Perhaps he offers Milam and Brown a bigger deal than the past. Perhaps he throws more NIL at the high-school class.

Their actions this weekend say otherwise.
Brown is going pro. He'll be drafted high enough where the money is too much to pass up.
I could see Milam falling far and having to decide whether he really likes playing college baseball, and LSU stepping up with enough money to make it not hurt as much. He's a polarizing prospect due to his size.
