Just a quick google search on those slot values.
Hirschkorn 1.8 million
Washington just under 1 million
Murphy half a million

I've said it before, but Milam staying makes sense for the same reasons it would have made sense for Jared Jones to stick around one more year. The offers this year will be the same next year. They're different players, but being a 5'6" shortstop makes you about as in demand as a R/R first base only guy.
That said, I think the result will be same. I think Milam goes pro.

If that's all they're going to offer him, he will be at LSU.
I don't think that's all they're going to offer him though.

You are probably correct about Milam. It will only take one team to believe in him enough to give him a decent offer.
That being said, if 5 for 5 goes into effect. Brown and Milam keep their leverage next year. Brown feels he can go in the first round next year. Milam value will stay the same but can he cash in on a decent NIL offer this year and then cash in again on the draft next year? Brown can get a decent NIl offer this year and then first round money next year.

Oh I agree completely. After Brown's curtain call I said that isn't somebody who's playing here again. I think he just loves LSU and hates that this season/injury is how his career has to end.
Milam, on the other hand, completely ignored his curtain call and just stepped straight into the box to bat.

Brown is gone. After three years of college, I don’t think there is a realistic season statistically that could elevate his draft standing. He’ll probably go in the second or early third.

As much as I want brown and Milam back, I just don’t see it happening

Tonight I’m dreaming of a 2027 lineup with santerelli, Serna, Arrambide, and Pearson

What do we think about this pair of Zags...
Karsten Sweum; WCC pitcher of the year, low-mid 90s LHP. 108K/34BB in 77.1IP, .217 b/avg.
Landon Hood; WCC freshman of the year. RHP w/ 70k/19BB in 47.2 and a .169 b/avg.

So the portal is not open yet. Any reason you mentioned these two? Did they declare intentions to enter?

No reason, just guys who fit the bill for what Jay likes. West coast ties, underclassmen, all-conference performers, great K:BB ratio. Fun to speculate

We definitely need an influx of lefties in the bullpen next season. Santi is probably gone, Wiliams and Plog don't have me convinced they'll drastically improve so that just leaves Lach.
We've got 5 committed from HS right not with one almost guaranteed to not make it to campus and the other may end up a position player if he makes it. The other 3 may not end up here either
I'd think Jay is gonna hunt for guys like Sweum in the portal, but so will all the other top programs. I'd imagine everyone has an issue getting talented LHPs to campus with the emphasis the MLB puts on them
At a minimum it's fun to dream. I'd take the freshman righy too.

I also finally got around to listening to Armstrong's live episode from sunday. He kept mentioning how big the class was quantity wise and it's making me think that after Jay got raided by the draft last year, he intentionally took a ton of guys to make sure he has what he wants coming in. If he ends up with too many then I'd imagine the developmental guys get sent to JUCO

I think part of it is the expectation of losing guys to the draft too.
We have three 1B/OF guys that are all draft risks to some degree. Losing two would look like we got hit hard by the draft but getting any of the three is great and how many of that player type can you fit on a roster anyway?
As far as infielders, I think only Loew projects to stay at shortstop. And I think the staff is preparing for Milam to go pro and probably for Clauss to transfer because we’ve been looking at a ton of JUCO infielders, most of them shortstops and most of them freshmen.
They may also be preparing for some unexpected (to us) draft attrition from the infield class.
Outfielder is an absolute crapshoot. A ton of guys, all of them draft risks. Getting one or two would be great because a few of them seem to be day 1 starters if they get here. But we probably need a corner OF guy in the portal.

We lost 8 to MLB last year. I'm thinking about the same this year but I don't think it will hurt as much. Like you said we have multiple players at most positions and don't need to land them all.
Pitching is a little different because I'm not sure how many project as starters and the ones that do might get drafted.

Everyone talks about the HR leaders in the country being underclassmen. Any one of them we should actually expect to hit the portal? I’m talking
- Tague Davis (7th in OPS)
- Hunter Ray (9th in OPS)
- Quinton Coats (20th in OPS)
- Landon Hairston (1st in OPS)
- Blake Primrose (2nd in OPS)
- Braydon Kersey (65th in OPS)
- Jett Music (8th in OPS)

I don’t see Hairston hitting the portal unless there is a coaching change at ASU.
Davis another son of a big leaguer, similar to Hairston, so I can’t see a portal payday being a motivator but I could be wrong there.
ETA: fun fact, Tague Davis’ uncle is Glenn Davis who played for the Astros. I don’t actually remember him playing for the Astros but I remember his card being in every single pack of cards I opened as a kid.

Should we all call and tell him to come to LSU?
I kid. Just funny he publicly listed his phone number.
