Anyone know the story behind Greyson Parker heading to OM, were we just not interested?

We've gone so heavily in state for 2027 that it's hard to think he was overlooked or anything. I'm guessing there just wasn't interest in one direction or the other, or both.

Mandeville seems like a good baseball program

Hopefully we will land a recruit from there eventually

I don't know if Koa has a number but if Santarelli got to LSU so can he.

college is not a bad development path
Schwarber went to Indiana
it helps to see college level pitching before making that big league jump

My life would be ruined if koa didn’t make it to campus

I know that’s hyperbole but that’s how bad I want him on campus

Same with Jordin griffin

Have they announced Jay's first presser for the year? Last year it was on Wednesday of the first week of school. I know Skip's funeral is Tuesday next week so I am not sure if that has impacted the original plans. I was planning on getting the new thread started this coming weekend.

They haven't. But I agree that the plans for that PC may be shifted due to the funeral.

not that we have room for anymore players. Interesting development as school is starting for their coach to step down.

His pitching coach at Mandeville High is Christian Trent (former OM pitcher), so that might also have something to do with it.

Also a former LSU pitcher. But I'd imagine Mainieri made sure that he didn't have a favorable opinion of the LSU program.

Speculation or is there some truth to this?

Speculation on my part. There are a bunch of former players who actually finished their careers at LSU that couldn't stand Mainieri. I can only imagine the feelings the ones who were pushed out might have.

Was about to say I remember the name Christian Trent

At LSU in 2012 didnt play, transferred to Delgado 2013

Starter at OM in 2014 and 2015 and had a 2.05 ERA in 2014. Definitely a pitch to contact guy (only 86 K in 110 IP)

I think he went to Delgado between LSU and Ole Miss.

Looks like Will Furniss will be back at Ole Miss for another year. I know Eddy has been very vocal on Twitter about how the NCAA went out of their way to screw the c/o 2022 guys. Glad its looking like it will work out for him to get another year.

I don't know how reasonable it is for a lot of teams to add anyone unless there is more clarity around the roster limits and the transfer portal for the c/o 2022 players though.

I feel like our roster is set, but who knows nowadays.
