Why lock yourself into 3 years (or 2 if they decide that) for a d1 school when you could spend just a year at a juco potentially and be drafted instead

One of the other things to think about when people are fantasizing over having gotten this person or that person to campus it generally means that 5th year Beloso isn't here. Probably 5th year Dugas isn't here. Will Hellmers never gets the chance to pitch against UNC. A lot of the Louisiana program guys would have been squeezed out.

I think if they want to make it to where HSers aren't draft eligible, the best way to do it is to leave JUCO and 4 year rules as is.
That way all the guys that just want to be pros can go JUCO and everyone else is largely unaffected.
You have the Arizona JUCO league that includes Southern Nevada and Salt Lake CC where they use wood bats. That would effectively become a pre-draft league for the very top prospects.

I mostly just follow and read along, but how are you able to stay on top of this and know who we are on in terms of recruits? Novice question I know, but I was just curious.

A few people on this board have learned some consistent trends with some of our coaches and kids they follow on certain social media pages to determine if a coach from LSU has likely made contact with the recruits.

Not really LSU related but local related and I think we kicked the tires at some point. Michael O'Brien is going to Samford next season. Curtis kid, spent 2 years at Miss St, didn't play much, played last season at Little Rock and got some more time. He has 2 years of eligibility. Very good athlete, can really run, but the hit tool just hasn't shown up for him yet.

Rockie, i'll try and be nice but just want to make a point here. I respect the grind and entertainment that mom and pop content creators bring. Lets get that out of the way.
But let's think about this; Jake Brown was a highly scouted high school player. Played in 162 games over 3 years at the best baseball school in the country. How many hundreds of times has he been timed home to first? Do we think that scouts do not know how fast & athletic he is? Sorry, but I just can't comprehend a huge jump here.
I know people have lost steam with Baseball America; I still think they are the industry standard. They don't form opinions based on what they read on twitter; rather people on twitter base opinions on the things they say. And create websites and podcasts about it. Just something to marinate on

That’s a staff draft, not a mock. It’s who they would take in those spots, not where they think they’ll go.
I don’t think it’s particularly useful, because of the confusing nature of it, but apparently people read it.
Their actual mocks are very good.
Kiley McDaniel had a good piece out today on espn, where he was able to drop a lot of scoop about each teams potential draft plans.

I’m not really interested in trying to see people nail the picks. It’s impossible most years but especially one like this one that will have a ton of parity.

Ruckert is no longer on the roster for Healdsburg. William Patrick apparently injured his hand earlier this summer and was shut down. Not sure on Ruckert yet.
Parker Loew's season with the Draft League is also finished. The draft league only allows players with eligibility remaining to play in the first half. The second half of the summer it functions like an independent league.
