Has a do not contact tag. There's a "Colton Book" twitter account that was created in June of 2025, that is following 4 people (all family members) and has 9 followers, and one of them is Josh Jordan.

I don't think it would've made a significant difference. He couldn't supplant Milazzo with a year in the program so he's definitely spending 2024 behind him and Travinski if he were a true freshman instead. He transferred to Bama only to perform even worse than he did last year and got all of 20 more PAs and played in 3 fewer games. If anything, reclassifying gave him an extra year of opportunity, but he didn't/couldn't take advantage of it.

Simpson now on Book as well. Since i made that post, about a dozen coaches around the country have followed him. Something tells me those do not contact tags don't mean much

he had a 0.2 IP 8 ER outing that added a full run to his ERA.

So the ERA outside that horrific outing is pretty nice too something like 3.59 if I did the math right

The do not contact tag hides a lot of the personal information. So they can't just freely call them. They can still reach out. Most of the time through the agent.

We seem to be kicking the tires on erstwhile Mississippi State commit John Bingham, a INF/RHP from Kentucky who was recently cut loose by the new staff there.

the “didn’t give us the time of day?” remark?

More likely guys we went after in the portal who blew us off

This is what it is. He used the same line in a coach's committee meeting but expounded upon it a little further.

Jay doesn't take being told no well, and he also doesn't like it when people assume guys show up to LSU because of the brand. Dude works his arse off. LSU is VERY lucky.

I'm pretty sure he's told a story about when Kling called and decommitted over the phone, Jay chewed him out, hung up the phone, then realized he shouldn't do that and called him back about 30 minutes later, and Kling recommitted

Off topic, but pretty funny that Louisville made it to Omaha while Kilen got swept in a super.

We are on Cal Higgins now

Cal Higgins, LHP, WKU, JR
1.87 ERA, 43.1 IP, 28H, 9ER, 11BB, 52K, 0.900 WHIP
I'm trying to figure out which account is the important account this year, but LSU Baseball Recruiting twitter follows Higgins now. That usually means something.

I don't have any inside info here, just following the tea leaves like we have the past few years under this staff.

it was always Dan McDonnell. Kind of want to see this matchup in the finals. Jay vs the Rant favorite HC of ‘22.

Was it just me or does McDonnell look super old? It looks like he’s aged 20 years since Covid.
