Would be an A+ hire all things considered, but damn I feel like every time I watch Virginia in the postseason they are leaving out a bullpen arm waaaay too long and blowing games.
rumor is he's going to be bringing Wake Forest's pitching coach with him Starkville. That would be massive.
FWIW O'Connor has won one CWS game since their title in 2015.
Preseason #2 this year and missed the tournament

Schmidt is a light switch away from seeing it all click. I’m hoping he gets that in his summer ball assignment. It’s somewhat lofty comparison, but thinking we could see a Grant Taylor type transition in summer ball.
We’re lucky he’s a local boy, otherwise I’d be concerned about portal this offseason.

The only reason he isn't getting roasted is because A&M exists.

San Diego State just fired their coach. Former commit Danny Arambula is there. Former targets Finely Bates and Xavier Cardenas are there.
Not sure their roster or the coaching carousel impact will mean much.

William Patrick seems like the dude that is a clear stud that wasn’t talked about by many services until now.
Late movement up once draft season rolls around usually means scouts are talking a lot about certain prospects..

The wrong numbers are big for him

Caden Bogenpohl announced that he won't be hitting the portal.

Damn. Elite talent. MOST just spent their entire NIL budget or kid didn't want to risk the SEC exposing him.

There is a chance I'll get to find out who all tampered with him. I'm guessing Arkansas is at the very top of the list (they always are).

Refresh my memory…what was the story with him? Was he told to look elsewhere or did he just decide to stay on the west coast?

William Patrick shooting up the board. He has quietly been on of the more slept on dudes in this class.

He's been one of my favorites in the class because of the pure athleticism.
I'm just hoping there are still enough questions about how raw he is that teams won't want to pay him enough.
I really like Daniel Harden in this class too. Similar profile to Patrick. Raw, toolsy, LH OF, multi sport guy. Harden has been able to get a lot of competitive at bats at McLennan and develop. I really think he could contribute next year.

I'm pretty sure he was asked to look around.

Ryan Costello and Mikey Ryan have reported to the La Crosse Loggers in the Northwoods League for their summer assignment. They're both expected to be in the line up tonight.

Not in the portal yet, but Josh Jordan followed Mercer OF Ty Dalley. He hit .273 this year while driving n 61 and hitting 19 home runs. Has also played first base, was primarily one in 2023.
