60: 6.29x2 (Super 60 record, 1.51 split, 22.2mph top speed
I do not think people understand how fast this is. this is crazy fast as in laser timed low 4.4 time.
that 10 yard split at 1.51 is great too.

He has been on my radar since I read in his profile 6.36 sixty. La. kid, as well. I'm already excited about the 2025 class. Recruiting is really fun with Jay's staff.

yea its crazy. the system they used has the 10/20/30/60 times but for people to understand this....
the average nfl RB is right around 4.52 laser timed, their splits are usually in the 2.64 & 1.88 on the lasers which means this kid ran a 4.48 laser timed 40 2x in a row inside. that is dumb AF fast for a kid his height and size. Now that is assuming he has the average 10 yard split time of 1.58...in which he didnt....he had a 1.51 which means he was prolly in the 4.41-4.42 range on the 40 on lasers that go off first movement so think NFL combine where any flinch sets it off(nfl uses lasers and cameras).
Now im estimating this but i want people to think about when we see people fast AF and what they run at the combine and compare and then you get a sense of how fast this kid is.

Baseball America released their All America lists for college and high school.
LSU has both the 1st and 2nd team catchers on the HS teams as they have Fauske listed as a catcher. He can play anywhere on the field but the scout feeling is that he has a very high ceiling behind the plate.
That puts him in a similar category to Alex Bregman and Dylan Crews. Hopefully he also makes it campus like they did.

Patrick is a dude. Here is the run.
From what I understand could be a high level football recruit if he wanted to go in that direction

yea he is a dude for sure
for reference on the BA all american list....they have Slater de Brun, OF, Summit HS, Bend, Ore. as the fastest runner and he ran a 6.39 60 and Patrick smashed that twice.
BA AA team

Would he be a kid that Kelly and Jay agreed to play both football and baseball? I'm far less familiar with him as football recruit but his speed and athleticism play. I also wonder how high MLB teams will consider him. Seems he could have alot of moving parts.

It was one weekend, but a pretty important one. I thought the guy was terrible at the UNC regional. The one guy in that lineup that you felt good about getting out when he came up.

LSU working on getting Dalton Beck an extra year in 2026 due to the Pavia ruling

Former LSU Ops director Tyler Nordgren has moved from Cal Baptist, where he was the hitting coach, to UC-San Diego. Cal Baptist has an OF that might be a first round pick. UC-San Diego is a bit of a step up though. Both programs have gone from D2 to D1 in recent years, but UCSD is in the Big West vs the WAC. Just a better baseball league.

Just a general observation I've noticed tracking JUCO stuff so far: I've seen at least 4 new JUCO programs this year. One in Tennessee (basically in Knoxville), one in Arkansas, one in Ohio, and one in Missouri.
The state of Arkansas has added probably 5 new JUCO programs in the past 6 or 7 years. North Carolina added a JUCO program a few years ago and they're already producing D1 guys year in and year out.
With the D1 rosters shrinking, JUCO baseball is going to grow from a talent standpoint, so it's also good that it's going to grow from an available roster spot standpoint.
I know back in the early 2000s there was some consolidation of JUCO athletic programs that culled some teams in St Louis, Houston, and Miami. To see programs continuing to be added is a positive thing.

Daniel Harden went yard yesterday in McLennans first game of the season.
I think Ethan Plog will pitch for Iowa Western today.
Not LSU connected, at least yet, but Giancarlo Arrencibia from Rummel left Tulane for Delgado at the semester break and threw well yesterday.

quote:Osuna ruled ineligible (for now)
The late add guy I was referring to was Alberto Osuna from North Carolina. He was petitioning the NCAA for another year of D1 eligibility based on the Pavia stuff. A different SEC team was likely going to land him if it worked out, but it looked like we at least kicked the tires on him. As of right now, it appears he's staying at D2 Tampa and won't be returning to D1.

Feel like this is the best place to ask this.
Does anyone know the baseball red shirt rules? I know at one point any play at all and you lost it. I have no idea if that remains, but seeing Ryan and Hogg get PT today had me thinking. Odds are neither of those guys get a ton of at bats this year and do those limited appearances still count for a full season?

I don't think they ever changed the rule for baseball. I'm pretty sure it's still if you get playing time, you lose your redshirt.
I'm not 100% positive on this so maybe someone like Project can confirm, or deny.

I had the same thought today. I heard that those two were going to be likely redshirt candidates. Although with the way NCAA rules are being challenged in court left and right these days, who knows if that will even apply in a couple years.

Pretty sure you don't play at all and your not even considered on the roster. Sheerin is the only redshirt we have this year.
