Dumbasses can’t even come up with anything original.

I haven't really kept up with the discourse as it's clearly an engagement farming exercise by D1 Baseball.
I did happen to see one Tennessee fan calling Skip overrated because of the state of the sport at the time he was coaching at LSU.
I wonder what his opinion on Pat Summitt is.

If not for Skip SEC baseball would not be where it is today
He made baseball relevant in the SEC as both a moneymaker and to give fans something to do in the spring that didn't involve football
He gave the marketing blueprint to every other sec school with the exception of Miss St but even Polk wasn't on same level as Skip

I would give credit to Skip and Ron Polk

If Vitello left Knoxville tomorrow, Tennessee would quickly be back to a middling major program that would surprise their way to Omaha once every 15 years.
It is crazy to rank them the #2 program.

I learned a lot from Coach Polk. He lived and breathed baseball.

Seriously… we aren’t that far removed from a 6’10 relief pitcher and have a 6’9 freshman on campus. I genuinely curious how high that clearance is.

Off of which pitcher?
I think it was Eyanson.

It definitely looks bad and I hope they have better, permanent plans. But the height should be fine. That pic is misleading. There are 13 visible steps so that looks to be at least 7'-7" clearance from the short point which isn't over the closest mound. The closest ladder in the pic is 8' tall which gives some reference; 12' ladder in the back. I'm sure Shores and Rizy will be more comfortable on the side furthest from the field.

They don’t. I’m told that this is permanent and Jay’s plan is to have the pitchers throw the ball through the ladder as a way to enhance command of the strike zone. Unconventional but we will see how it works out.

The renderings call for two mounds completely under the bleachers. The one closest to the field-side is going to have one hell of a time trying to function.

A mound is only 10” tall. There looks to be at least 8’ of clearance where that rubber will likely be. It isn’t like a pitcher will release the ball standing straight up. It will function but probably feel odd.

I'd hate to be that manager

Football players get Texas Brazil and Tigertown. Baseball players get Barnes and nobles and a Latte from Starbucks.

I thought the same thing but if it's the LSU Barnes and Noble maybe it's to let them get some gear or see the LSU bookstore as part of the campus tour
