got to watch Arambide twice this weekend. There was very little offense in general but he did square up a couple balls. His work behind the dish really shines. It’s extremely polished.
Some parents in the crowd acted like he was a first rounder and would never make it to campus. That seems like an exaggeration but who knows.
They won state title today 4-0

I’m assuming Johnson wants to be a starter and coach couldn’t promise that. Hate to see him go, but he really struggled to throw strikes. Sucks to see that kind of talent walk out the door.
Bronzini never really got much of a shot. I always hate to see a Louisiana kid leave.
Jay has some work to do in the portal.

Hate to lose Cam. Met his parents in the fall. Good people. Somebody is gonna get a talented piece of clay to work with. He just wasn’t ready for prime time this year.
Bronzini not a big surprise.

Thanks for the live report on Arrambide.

Thanks
I confused him with DJ Primeaux.
Makes more sense now that he isn’t a local guy. Best of luck to him.

This is all good we honestly needed to retool a lot of this roster

I would have rather kept Moffett tbh. Wish Johnson luck

Losing Johnson isn't good but I don't think he was even going to be a big contributor next year. He really was not impressive this year. Not only could he not throw strikes but his velo only sat around 93 and his other stuff was just okay. I didn't understand how he had been so highly ranked. No chance he has better stuff than Kade Anderson. Moffett was pretty electric when he had command. I hate losing him.

He's clearly got talent, but it didn't come together this spring for whatever reason.

I'm talking about in actual games that count. He never looked good. And it wasn't just control.

You do understand that part of the college experience and what's sold to players is development, right?

RAT team does baseball, too?

If he was throwing 100 mph in the fall and striking out 7 people in 2 innings, why wasn’t he throwing 100 mph in the spring? He wasn’t even doing that in the beginning of the spring, and we never heard of any injury.

I watched a number of scrimmages in the fall and spring, and I don't recall Cam throwing 100 in any scrimmages open to the public. He sat 95-96 early in his outings from what I recall and would dip to 93.

Cam's last outing he was throwing mostly 91-93. He hit 95 once and a couple of 94s. He faced 3 hitters and had like 3 wild pitches including 2 back to back walks before being pulled.
He did have filthy stuff, but not enough control.
I expect he will get his velo back up.

I wonder if his velo was intentionally down in an effort to gain better control? Not that it worked at all lol
