Not LSU related but just saw Travis Bazzana signed for $8.95 mil which is $1.62 mil under slot. That is why we were worried about Cleveland picking Schmidt/Herring/Jones.
Chase Burns signed for $9.25 mil as the number 2 overall pick.

I don't see why they wouldn't work him both ways this fall and if you see something there then you can carry it over into the spring. You know something is there with the way he was recruited by the pro scouts as a pitcher and not a position player. Especially if 3 others out perform him for the starting OF spots, you have him on the mound to fall back on instead of having his talent not contribute at all. I kind of thought maybe him leaving the cape early while hitting .320 after only 6 or 8 games might have suggested he was going to either come back to campus to get some pitching work in or go to a different league to maybe get some innings but I haven't seen anything on him in any other summer leagues.

I wish they would just let him hit. He could be a lineup pillar.

I don’t doubt that Milam and Larson will be in the lineup day 1

From Jay's comments on the potential Brown has as an everyday OF, I don't think they will work him as a pitcher if it brings down his progress from a development standpoint in the OF. I feel like they can make both work though.

Did you read his post at all or just see the lineup and felt you needed to comment on it?

Milam would still make my slow pitch lineup.

Me too but with a crowded OF and not enough LHP, it wouldn’t surprise me 1 bit if he throws 15-20 innings this year

When was the last true two way player at LSU?

The closest I could think is Chad Jones.

That’s my thought as well. He would be a nice insurance policy in the LHP department if needed

To me, it's not even so much of the crowded OF as it is that the OF is crowded with LHH. Brown may have the highest upside of them, but he has other potential impact on the team as a LHP.
Stanfield will be pivotal. If you're RHH not named Jones, Braswell, or Dickinson...you may get OF reps in the fall to see what's up.

Other than Bain and Jones,
Cabrera pitched like twice.
I remember Nate Fury getting some AB’s before becoming strictly bullpen
Did Nick Storz ever get an AB?
I remember Ryan Eades coming in as a possible 2-way guy but I don’t recall him barring.
