I thought Jones looked better at Catcher than Travinski. If Jones, Priester and Arrambide all make it to campus I don't think it is crazy to rotate Jones from 1B to backup Catcher on occasion. That keeps us from having to carry a third Catcher.

Yemin is a viable 3rd catcher. Obviously nothing to write home about but he looks okay but the small bits i’ve seen. Can’t be worse than Neal was

Arvid son just went public to Tennessee. That should wrap up their class unless the draft gets goofy for them.

I was told by staff they feel confident in Jones and Herring coming back. But this was a random conversation in a chick fil a play area. So take that for what it’s worth.

Money talks, man. And, I understand what they know and think. But it gets the heart pumping a different way when the call comes in and they’re going to wire the money to you.

If anyone should be being offered formidable NIL deals, its draft eligible sophomores that have performed for you, like Jones and Herring have. Even more so, they do not have slam dunk decisions to leave as marginal early round picks.

On paper they should be sold on a significant NIL deal to return + a draft bonus that either improves in 2025, or at worst, stays the same.

Seemingly collecting two bonuses (LSU NIL 2024 + MLB draft bonus 2025)

100%. I think we still don’t really know how NIL plays in baseball but I’ve had conversations with people and thought that this exact scenario that Jones and Herring are in is where NIL could be most valuable.
