I agree. Was a little bummed we didn't get him considering we are a little short handed with respect to LHP at this point.

Nice numbers in his sophomore year. Not so much his freshman year. Listed as 1B/C/OF but seems to have played all 1B this past season on the box scores 15+ box scores i checked.

According to perfect game, he just turned 20 and he's a sophomore, so that would be a no.

I’m not ready to give up on the idea of Bear coming back to man the catcher position. Now we got his replacement at 1B. If ole boy from Indiana State can play 3rd then we might be working with some power in the lineup.

He has played 2 games at catcher in the Cape this summer and 2 games in the OF, so I wonder if the plan is moving him back to catcher at least part time.

He didn't catch at all last year for Dayton. He did catch in summer ball 5 games last summer.

I keep seeing this mentioned. Where is this coming from? I haven't seen that anywhere other than on TD. He looks like a 1B/DH that played C a few times.

I’m not aware of him playing 3rd but that has been mentioned a few times around here so I wasn’t sure if others had knowledge on that or not. If he can’t then he isn’t a bad option at DH but you are quickly running out of room for Larson.

ETA: we have seen Jay take guys and give them an opportunity to play 3rd bc of their bats. That might be where TD is getting the idea from. Amick also played 1B at Clemson and was given the opportunity to play 3rd at Tenn. I guess it’s not out of the question.

Hopefully he lights it up but figuring out which guys are going to adjust to sec pitching is a crapshoot.

I'll bet Bingham had better stats coming over from a pac12 school.

Probably overreacting, but Davis going to UGA is disappointing and concerning. He wasn’t a Holman or Jump and we didn’t lose him to Florida or Arkansas.

In what world is this concerning? Wes is a guy pitchers will want to play for. He will win recruiting battles. His assistants are good too. You won’t like that we’ve lost other guys to Georgia too and so have other teams.

Yamin has been catching almost exclusively in the limited time he’s been in the cape cod league. I think that’s an indication of where we see him slot in, at least part time.
