Ole Miss Outfielder TJ McCants entered the portal
He's been big for them the past few seasons
quote:

This past season, McCants batted .232 with 27 runs scored, 33 hits, nine home runs and 27 RBI. He was a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts. Defensively, he fielded .990 with 97 putouts.

Big no thanks on McCants.

I would think one we look real hard at especially with connections from Skenes is Sawyer Hawks. Pitcher from Air Force.

2.84 ERA as a sophomore with 22 relief appearances. 50 IP 70 Ks 27 BB .214 avg against with a mid 90s fastball and good slider and a big frame at 6’4

Riley Bauman from Abilene Christian seems to be getting genuine interest from us. Stats aren’t good but stuff has promise.

I think he's coming off TJ from 2022. Could be wrong.

You never say never but the least likely to get to campus is Blake Mitchell (Projected top 15-20 picks) and Cameron Johnson (Projected top 35-40 picks). Not expecting either one but like I said, never know.

MLB Top 200 Prospects

Here is a list of the latest MLB top 200 recently updated.

LSU Related:
Dylan Crews - 1
Paul Skenes - 2
Blake Mitchell - 13
Cameron Johnson - 40

Jake Brown - 93
Grant Taylor - 98
Steven Milam - 101
Tre Morgan - 136

2024 class has plenty of top notch recruits similar to last years class. Will be quite a few we don't land due to the draft next season I'm sure.

I think he's on campus next year but certainly some teams will give him something to think about.

Feel like Brown could be one of those right away weekend starters with his stuff/control and being a lefty. He kind of feels like another Jared Poche type to me.

And we're going after Noah Franco too. We could have 5 top ten guys.

Which would mean the class will get gutted at the top, but I would look at it as getting 1 being a victory, getting more than one being an absolute coup.

This was my exact thought last season on Griffin Herring. Feel like Herring and Brown coming out of HS is pretty similar. Will be nice to hopefully have them both next season.

I think brown could be a weekend guy, I think he could also be a position player and play early.

That said his stuff is several ticks better than poche. He’s topping 93, and some have mentioned him throwing even harder.

Agreed. I have seen reports of him 90-92 topping 94. Seems like Coleman type FB.
