Doesn’t surprise me. He pitched really really good. Really good. Honestly didn’t have a lot of help.
Brown has cracked the Top 100 on some draft prospects lists. I thought for a while that he was a lean to make it to campus. Might be a toss up now.

You've involved yourself by getting on a Internet forum stating things which aren’t factual about a minor. Obliviously from the barbe camp which is suspicious as well. The parents haven’t covered for him and held him accountable. But obliviously you you wouldn't know that part either.

Well he’s not a minor and I’m not from Barbe but whatever makes you feel better. The kid has issues and will hopefully mature……

Hopefully he will and not end up on a forum.

Btw last night Victorian sat 92-95 and hit 97. Not sure what brown sat.
Brown was really good but Victorian was a whole different level of good
It was special

FWIW, the MLB.com write up makes it sound like he’s a college lean.
“ But his stuff hasn't taken a step forward this spring, so it may be difficult for clubs to select him high enough to divert him from his Louisiana State commitment.”
“ He might make a push for the first round with more velocity and there's definitely more projection remaining in his 6-foot-2 frame.”
Sounds like a college strength program and Wes Johnson adding 2-3 mph on his fastball could make him an elite prospect in 3 years.

If him and his folks are worried about people talking about him on tigerdroppings, my suggestion would be to hang up his cleats.

How do we feel about this pitching class?
I think brown and anderson have a ton of potential from the left side. Both need to add weight and get to that 205 range (2.75*height) to be optimal and both need to add strength but both have great builds for that. Jake especially has lower body structure you look for. Im assuming cameron johnson doesnt make it to campus, but if he does....this is an A++ pitching class for HS recruiting. But need to add depth and 1-2 top level arms this offseason for sure and if guidry is going back to postional play, needs to add one to replace him plus the ones that will still be in IR from TJ.
so pitching class for HS is good but very thin overall. need way more numbers.

Yeah agreed. I think injuries and maybe some unexpected poor play has impacted these numbers. Got 8 arms to campus last year but now have two out for periods of time next season (Shores/Noot) and Guidry possibly back to INF so really only 4 returning arms from the last class, 3 of which never pitch (Primeaux, Moffett, Bronzini) then there's Herring and Bucknam. I gotta imagine we'll be hitting the portal hard for young arms with 2 years available to them on top of the stud or two that might be in the draft year.

Pretty much gotta go portal shopping for proven arms.

The Brown's are my neighbor, he's a tiger. The kid across the street is legit too but we will see where the dust settles with him.

It's very thin...leads me to believe they are going to go heavy JUCO and transfer route this summer which is reasonable.

Someone else I haven’t seen anyone speak on (or I missed it) is Seo expected to pitch in college at all? Or is he just a middle infielder

Since he slots in at both of the biggest needs on next year's team, it's too early to tell.

Yea, I'd imagine he will be handled like Guidry this year. See where he will make the biggest impact on the team for next year and plug him there.
I am very interested to see how many will come in as 2 way type guys. I think 3-4 guys are capable with Seo, Brown, Anderson, and Lape. I've really only heard rumors of Seo and maybe Brown being 2 way but I think those 4 would have a shot. Of course Blake Mitchell would also, but I just assume not really count him in there at this point. Likely a lost cause to get any hopes up on that.

I think Seo makes it to campus. (hunch)
Posted on 5/16/23 at 3:02 pm to BayTiger13
Lape is recovering from TJ and will have to redshirt next season.
Posted on 5/16/23 at 3:52 pm to ProjectP2294
Yea, maybe not next season but still capable of both if they would choose. More than likely not with him and I think Anderson will mostly concentrate on pitching. Seo and Brown probably the more likely candidates.

It is very difficult to be a two way player at this level because you get limited reps at each position.
