We really need some of these elite pitchers to make it to campus this cycle. That is our whole in the team right now

whole? I mean I'm not trying to be the message board grammar police but if you're going to say something dumb, maybe use the correct word.
Our HOLE is not elite pitching or elite arms, it's consistency. It's Thatcher Hurd throwing strikes. It's Christian Little throwing strikes. It's Ty Floyd making sure he can locate his breaking balls for strikes so teams don't sit on his fastball. This team has plenty of "elite" arms.
Paul Skenes
Ty Floy
Thatcher Hurd
Grant Taylor (a huge missing piece)
Christian Little
Chase Shores
Griffin Herring
Jaden Noot (another missing piece)
Aiden Moffett (has the stuff but wildly inaccurate and a freshman)
Garrett Edwards (I don't think he's got elite stuff, but he's pitching at an elite level)
Then there's another tier of guys with really good stuff, but not elite level ceilings
Nate Ackenhausen
Micah Bucknam
Javen Coleman (will be huge to get him back)
Sam Dutton
Even Bryce Collins has an above average to elite breaking ball and good fastball, he just can't see the plate.
The quality of arms on this team is not a hole. Finding a way to be more consistent and being ahead in counts early in the game is the key.

He has the 2nd best stuff on the team and it’s not close really

I mean he's got really good stuff but I don't think it's second on the team. It's definitely "close" but he's pitching lights out so it's a good problem to have.

He has three above average pitches. Sits 94-96
Doesn’t walk anyone or give up hits. His curveball is an outstanding out-pitch
I’m not sure who else checks off all these boxes
It kinda sucks because he is a clear draft threat now

What’s the chances Brody Brech enters the portal after this year?

As someone that doesn’t know much about UCL injuries. How long are players normally out for after surgery

Probably zero.

It’s usually a year minimum. I’ve seen some claims by doctors that new techniques and rehab strategies have reduced recovery time significantly but off the top of my head, I can’t think of a pitcher who has come back in less than 12 months.

2023 Commit Trenton Lape will be having TJ surgery end of May. He will be out for his freshman year.

I wonder if that’s why we’ve been looking at more infielders.

Possibly or more than likely really. This has been a lingering issue for a couple of years. He had a repair after sophomore year and it didn’t fix it. He’s been playing outfield and has actually pitched thru it this year. Not a lot of innings, but has pitched. His teammate was a ULL commit at the same time Lape committed to LSU. His teammate has been having arm issues as well for the same amount of time. I saw the other day he changed his commitment to BPCC. ULL must have pulled his offer. I was wondering if LSU was going to do the same with Lape. And I don’t mean this as a negative post towards the 2 young men.

Lape is talented enough to wait on, especially when he wouldn’t take up a spot while he redshirted.

I think we need to pay attention to Dominic Pellegrin. His 2nd year as starting SS at Holy Cross, and he's only a freshman. He literally started varsity as a 13 or 14 yr old kid. I don't see any huge flaws. He's already committed to Tulane, I think.
I watched Brother Martin and Holy Cross both games this week. Pellegrin stands out. Darrah (soph at BM) stands out, too - I imagine he starts to get mentioned more on this board.
