When is the homerun derby that Bear is in?
Think it was yesterday but I haven’t seen much about it. Think Bear had 4 homeruns with two of them 440+ according to a random tweet I saw this morning.
I could have some of those numbers wrong. Had a big weekend and a fuzzy head this morning.

Top 5 pick. Too bad we won’t see him in purple and gold

It was Saturday afternoon. Bear hit 2 420+ to qualify for an extra 30 seconds but failed to hit one there and missed the finals by 1 HR
James Tibbs FSU ended up beating Hunter Hines MSU in the finals.
My seats sucked for taking video. Harwich gave all the scouts prime location tho.
here is he taking some cuts
Edit-didnt realize Tibbs is also from Marietta. Probably knows Jones pretty well.

Is Griffin really a lock to the MLB? We all thought Cameron Johnson was too

Yes he’s a lock to the MLB
Cameron Johnson wasn’t a projected top 5 draft pick either

As much of a lock as you can be but things happen.

I hope that it is nothing but shoddy reporting, but both Spotrac and MLB.com are indicating that Cam Johnson signed with the Cardinals for $150k, which seems absurd.

Well that would be an all time kick to the nuts. 150k?

I’d officially quit following baseball recruiting if a kid looking for 3 million signs for 150k

There have been some reporting errors on Cardinals signees. It's looking correct now, but there were reports their 10th rounder signed for a below slot deal but he's actually decided to go back to school.
With zero news coming from the org and nothing from the player, I find it very hard to believe Johnson has signed.
Spotrac is probably pulling from the MLB draft tracker, which had this error yesterday.

The Cardinals have finished signing their 2023 draft picks.
Their 10th round pick (Caden Kendle) and their 20th round pick (Cameron Johnson) will not sign but the signing bonuses for everyone else can be seen below:

Thank you, that should clear it.

Good to know it was just shoddy reporting, figured same since the numbers did not make sense. Thanks for the confirmation Adam, Project and GBP.

Quick summer updates that stood out.
Frey is heating up again and got his average back up to .360 with a 1.055 OPS. Playing a lot of RF and some 1B.
Moffett is pitching well. Had 1 "bad" outing but as was reported on this thread the numbers were skewed vs how it actually went when watching.
Bucknam is pitching well in the cape. Not many Ks but he is getting outs.
Woods had a rough start in the cape but had 2 scoreless 1 inning outings in a row. Looks like he has been shut down for the summer now or at least from his cape team.
Pearson is swinging it well. .306 average and .914 OPS. Has 2 homers and also 6 stolen bases.
After a rough start for Jones it looks like he is getting into a small groove. Cutting down on the Ks recently and drawing a few walks. Homered at the end of last week.
Didn't get a chance to look at everyone. Just looked at the Cape and Northwoods guys real quick this morning.
Frey is heating up again and got his average back up to .360 with a 1.055 OPS. Playing a lot of RF and some 1B.

Makes me wonder what the plan is for Frey. With the assumption that Pearson, Kling and Bingham are your outfielders and Jones more than likely at 1B, does it come down to who can get the better AB's between Jones, Frey and Travinski for who gets to play 1B, DH or come off the bench?
