We can’t even get a beat writer that can attend every game.

Holman now following LSU.szn and lsubombs on IG…
It's about 60 people. 20 LSU related people, 20 Tennessee related people, and 20 Mississippi state related people

I will say, when 2 different groups of "insiders" are saying it's between their school and LSU (and not the other school) that usually bodes well for us.

There's also a striking difference between MSU insiders and Tenn insiders.
MSU insider:
Tenn insider:
The MSU insider, who is among the biggest douchebags in sports, acknowledges who the top dog is in college baseball and knows where Mississippi State stands. shite, prior to the last 2 years, they were one of the top dos as well and were among the best programs in the country. They have a right to make those claims
Tenn on the other hand has won 1 CWS game since 2001, but by reading their message board, no one is their equal and Tony is a god. I mean "the best recruiter in college athletics"? Really? He's not even the best recruiter in his own conference, in his own sport
After a quick search, since the 2018 class (Vitello's first year at Tenn) through the 2024 class, Vitello has 17 top 100 players committed (6 top 50) to him, with 7 of which being in the '24 class.
Since the 2022 class, through the 2024 class, Jay has 23 top 100 guys committed (17 being top 50 guys)
MSU insider:
quote:
LSU is LSU and we're going to be on the same big name portal guys every single year. They won Skenes last year, because it was simply a better situation for him. That one roster move changed so much for them and helped them win it all. We have to win some of these head to heads not just because we need the dudes, we don't want to have to play against them.
Tenn insider:

It went well, which was expected. Visits in which Vitello puts the full-court press on always go well. That's why he's the best recruiter in college athletics.
I don't believe Tennessee could be in a better spot. They have great relationships with the kid and his dad, Holman's are looking to develop and they can do that better than anywhere at Tennessee, there's a need in the rotation, the visit was always going to go well, he can compete for a Natty, etc. It's going to come down to how he feels about State and LSU. There's nothing left for UT to do, IMO.
Was at Mississippi State today and will be at LSU tomorrow.

The positive of talking to Lloyd is the 2 guys doing most of the talking is 2 ex LSU national champions and kids probably think it is cool to talk to them.
LOL can we not have an entire thread discussing Lloyd

I haven't asked my Tennessee source about him, but just knowing what I know about the coaches and programs, it's a Tennessee - LSU race and the Mississippi State guy is blowing smoke.
Tennessee was on him very early and had connections to him they could leverage. From a development standpoint, I don't think he could make a wrong choice between Yeskie and Frank Anderson.

Tennessee are just like Georgia fans they are delusional behind comprehension. But unlike Georgia Tennessee hasn't actually won anything. Georgia until 2021 hadn't won anything but you would have thought they won 6 National Championships in football, that is how Tennessee is and their beat writers and it is so aggravating.

Not doubting you, just hard for me to hold much stock in something said by an "insider" who is that bullish (and is clearly a homer) on the team he covers. It reads like a Folse tweet without the exclamation points and emojis.

Both the State and MSU board claimed he was only here for one day and was taking a visit to Auburn yesterday.
Tigerheart, who clearly knows Guidry, said Holman was playing golf with Guidry yesterday. May have just been an early tee time?

We know he was with the coaches one night and playing golf with Guidry the next day. Could he have still visited Auburn? Sure. But their version of events isn't lining up with what people here have seen with their own eyes.
And since they're a few hundred miles away and relying on a game of telephone and a week old travel schedule, I like our information a little better.
And yeah, their recruiting reporters are very Folse like. I think a lot of it has to do with trying to capture the momentum within the fanbase around the program and monetize it.

This commitment is heading towards a Joe McKnight type drama for being July during the offseason.

I know at 1 point it was reported that yesterday would be an off day and his plan was to head back to his place in Tuscaloosa and then visit Auburn today. Maybe played a morning round with Guidry then headed back to Tuscaloosa in the afternoon. Maybe an Auburn visit today and then hopefully a commitment from him soon.

David Folse's voice sounds like a woman
as much as I'd like to hear his interview because of the player it's difficult.

I hope Holman pops to LSU today or tomorrow. It's up to Holman but when Jay wants a player he rarely loses out.
