Not sure how to date it, but Gage Jump (UCLA) is following lsu baseball on Twitter. I think we are the only other college program he follows outside of UCLA. Might want to rejoin Hurd and win another Natty
Guess he did want a Natty.

He's supposed to have huge upside... similar to Hurd? Better?
I know it's hard to say with TJ and all, but he could be a starter for us, no?

He could absolutely start.
Lefty who throws mid 90s with a filthy slider. Get Holman in the boat and we're looking at a really good staff all around.

LHP Gage Jump has some of the most unique stuff in the 2021 MLB Draft. He's 5-foot-11, throws from a release height ~5-feet, and produces vertical break between 19" and 22" at 93-94 mph. Imagine Josh Hader with MORE ride. Extreme stuff.
from Dec 2020.
other videos have him t96 in 2021

Jump’s stats from 2022…
Made seven appearances as a true freshman, including three starts ... Finished the year with a 1-1 record, two saves, 3.86 ERA, .172 BAA, and 22 strikeouts over 16 1/3 innings ... Ranked second on the team in K/9 (12.12), H/9 (5.5), and BAA ... Didn't appear after Apr. 24 due to injury ... Made his NCAA debut at Loyola Marymount on Mar. 22, bouncing back from a leadoff walk to get the next three guys as part of a scoreless sixth ... Notched saves in back-to-back appearances against Oregon on Apr. 1 and Apr. 3, throwing three scoreless innings combined as UCLA claimed a pair of one-run victories ... Made his first career start on Apr. 10 against Utah ... Established season highs in innings (5.0) and strikeouts (seven) against Stanford on Apr. 16 ... Struck out six and surrendered one earned run over 4 2/3 innings at California on Apr. 24 (his final appearance of the year) ... Had a 2.25 ERA in home games ... Named to the UCLA Director's Honor Roll for fall, winter, and spring quarters (3.0+ GPA, 12+ quarter units passed).

Funky slot, ton of deception, slider is unhittable to lefties.
Great pickup!

That’s awesome. I just wish all this shite happened while I still had my computer up and could edit my spreadsheet.

Jake brown should follow him in my opinion
Posted on 7/7/23 at 8:03 pm to beardkp
can somebody give me the scoop on him? I know he had TJ and missed last year but what kind of prospect was he before that?
Posted on 7/7/23 at 8:04 pm to banthony1
Brown and Anderson are 1 & 2 out of Louisiana. Would be very solid to keep both of them.

Jay is most passionate about building a team and having each player put the team needs above their own. Not saying this would keep him from recruiting Burns, but would it push Burns down the list a little in terms of priority compared to others who may be perceived as being “less selfish.”
It’s so funny how people here have convinced themselves that Chase Burns is a crazy selfish basket case lunatic. Is it because he came off the mound with emotion that one time? Some other reason? Really weird.

we still have an unaccounted-for tiger emoji, folks
If Gage is healthy, he will pitch a lot. Mid-90s fastball from the left side plays.

Just watched a short video on Gage Jump. No idea how anyone hits him, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pitcher hide the ball with his release more than him.

No that’s not the issue with Burns. Is that he has made it clear he wants a spot as a starter not in the pen and he and his people have basically stated this to schools that have courted him.
