Yes, I was only speaking to the reality of the situation at this point with Skenes. Even if they were given assurances, they have to play positions now regardless since Skenes is the primary DH. This team is going to be at its best with those three bats in the lineup. There really is no place else to put White but 3B and no other real candidates to play there anyway. Dugas could stay in LF if Guidry makes a case to start in MIF. I suspect there will be a fair amount of interchangeable pieces amongst DH/3B/2B/LF. A lot depends on how Guidry, Kling and Stevenson develop.
Yeah, Guidry could factor in for sure, but I'm kind of penciling Kling in at this point in the outfield (because I think he's going to be that good), which would prohibit putting Dugas out there. Guidry could push both Thompson and Dugas for either of the middle infield spots, but if Dugas goes back to hitting like he did in 2021, Guidry will have to beat out Thompson, which I certainly think is possible.
Bottom line, things can change, as we all know, but the people arguing against Dugas and White in the same infield should prepare themselves for the fact that this is the most likely scenario, on paper. And frankly, while I don't enjoy poor defense, their offense should plenty well offset it. If Dugas struggles with the bat and the glove, they can always go to Guidry, even if he only provides a defensive upgrade. But we know the upside is there for Guidry to develop into a star.
It should be fun.

So the Noot deal played out like I predicted. Just let the deadline pass without feeling the need to tell the world on social media.
Ultimate baw move IMO.

If they're loose on waivers for one reason or another, Kyle Karros from UCLA went to the same high school as Hurd. Started 43 games at 3B. Not much to look at hitting but pretty good at 3B. Just reaching for something here.
ETA: Last name says he might click at the plate eventually.

Ya, rn MIF is a rotation of Thompson, Guidry and Merrifield.
Merrifield doesn’t play SS
And Guidry is a freshmen. You cannot bet on him being a sure thing to handle such a responsibility
Agree but it’s what we got. Let’s roll!

I guess it would be tampering if CJJ went to Mooney and said "If you transfer to LSU we have a 150K NIL deal for you".

Garen Caulfield from Arizona? Played SS at JUCO before transferring to Zona where he played some 2B and 3B. Hit .292 and fielded .949 last year.

Kanin Dodge? Hit .316 at Stephen F Austin last season and fielded .987 (1 error in 77 chances) Originally from Carencro. I believe he would be a Covid senior.

Idk who Cayden Ortiz is, but Josh Jordan is now following him on Twitter. Looks like he was committed to Holy Patriot University and is now uncommitted. Hits from the left side. MIF.

I saw that guy too, but I was skeptical of our interest. I put him on my Twitter list, but he seems like a warm body.
ETA: he was a 2021 grad but I cant find any whereabouts for last year.

Another infield option to watch is Alex Perry from Pearl River CC. Tutko has been on him a while, but now Jordan is. I only checked one box score and saw he played third base, but looks like he can swing it.

Really good hitting numbers and can run. Not much help with the glove.

From the program Guidry came out of, he’s as ready to handle it as anyone in the country. You succeed there like he did, you’re the real deal.

I don’t know man. He was a top 2-3 round talent based on current skill set. Scouts absolutely love his make up and the intangibles…..you sure he can handle the sec ?
Hopefully Jay proves that he can recruit against the big boys in the sec. Still gotta wait and see amirite ?
