If we're promising White 3B, Denton is probably off the table. I do like him though.

why not? He's got pop and a good glove. I'm not looking at this from Carter Young's perspective. That's for him to decide. From CJJ and LSU's perspective he's a bat that you've seen what he can do in spurts but hasn't put it together. My guess is Johnson like his upside (recruited him in HS) and he feels that he can get him to be a good hitter. AT the worst, you have solid competition for all the spots and whoever wins wins. If Carter Young thinks he's the best out of the two, then he'll come and compete. If he doesn't he'll go somewhere else. That shouldn't stop us from recruiting high ceiling players.

Yeah, taking a chance on Young to have him on the roster is certainly fine from LSU's perspective. I just don't see him in our top 9 offensively unless he improves hugely. But if that's what he wants then come on...

I think Jay really trusts his and Wanaka's ability to develop hitters. I think it might be somewhat commonplace in the future for him to take a guy with lots of tools and see if he can turn him into an all sec hitter. I feel like he gets incredible satisfaction from that, and I don't blame him. we'll see!

Young had an off year. The previous year was better
JT may be slightly better at plate and Young a better glove. Certainly based off JTs fielding last year

JT probably better for average but Young has some real pop in that bat.

Young has had 2 offensive seasons better than either of Thompson’s 2 seasons. One year he hit above .320 and the other he hit 16 hrs. Thompson has never come close to either of those seasons. Now last year he was bad from an average standpoint. The question is was that who he is now or was that a one off. His freshman and sophomore years he was a better hitter and fielder than JT.

same here. I’ve been on vacation all week and I haven’t been keeping up like I normally do when I’m at work. We’ve landed Pineda, White, and Little, so it looks like I need to avoid this thread for a while.

It would be fantastic if we could "top this class off" with Paul Skenes and Thatcher Hurd! Would love to land both of them.

Those 2 and Price and I’m not sure how we wouldn’t be the favorites going into next year

If Carter young wants to play baseball at lsu you let Carter young play baseball. JJ and wanaka would have him hitting .315 with 20 jacks

Project, these big time transfers have to help the decision for Doughty, no? I mean, with the talent coming in, I’d want to stay one more year to see if we can make a run in Omaha.

It seems as if the news is done for the day. I wouldn’t think anything would be getting reported this late.

I know you are speaking to Project but there is no chance Berry or Cade come back. We could sign Babe Ruth. Those dudes are gone to the MLB as they should be. You have to get that money while the getting is good.
