Gotcha.
Are they realistic possibilities to follow JJ?

I’m not sure but Crawford decommitted immediately when the news broke and Neville was a little more recent. You have to think we at least have a chance with the relationship already established.

Awful advice how? Some people just don’t want to go to college. Awful advice would be just taking what he could get and some team landing him for pennies on the dollar. His scouting report says he was lightly scouted until recently. A year of JUCO could change that.

There’s only one reason he wasn’t drafted. He didn’t agree to a deal. If he was waiting to sign for anything someone would have picked him in 20 rounds.

Check the number of high school and juco catchers selected with slotted picks since the draft went to the current pool format in 2012. After making his willingness to sign known before the draft he wasn’t in any kind of position to play hardball with his price with a juco commitment as the leverage.

It's quite possible that 3 years of TV exposure starting at a powerhouse nationally ranked baseball team could do for him. Priester has the talent to be a 1st Rd pick in 3 years if he decides to play at LSU. Hope coach Johnson can convince him of that instead of him going the JC route.

Day 2

quote:

Jared Jones (2022 Marietta, GA) the 6-5/230 simply looks the part of a middle of the order power bat. His opposite field power is elite and he really lets the ball travel before unleashing his swing.
quote:

Gavin Guidry (2022 Lake Charles, LA) the 6-2/182 frame is wiry with quick wrists that produced exciting bat speed. The LSU commit has long levers that extend through the ball and creates backspin/carry.
quote:

Mikey Romero (2022 Menifee, CA) has a sweet left-handed swing that has limitless potential as the body fills out. He even showed some power clearing the rightfield wall.

LaViolette

Toman

Toman

I think LaViolette has dropped 30-40 pounds since last year.

I don't understand why you persist in believing I don't already know this. I thought I made my point clear, that I don't know why agreeing to a deal was so hard. I am not a draft novice, friend. I know all about how it works, and I did not suggest at any point that I believed he wasn't drafted because he wasn't good enough. I am surprised he wasn't drafted because I know it means that no one would meet his price, and his skillset, from my perspective, is off the charts. Either he had an unrealistic number, or teams undervalued him to not give him a deal. I'd have been all over it, if I were a GM.

According to Sconeman, Priester is/was on campus today.

Yep, and people can say he doesn't want to attend college all they want, the fact that he visited at the very least says he is considering it.

It appears that he hasn’t played since 2019 (his freshman season) due to arm injuries.

Looks like he’s had TJ in May of 19’, missed 20 but didn’t play in 21’ either. Wonder why
