LSU picked up a commit from Tripp Haddad, a 2021 from Jesuit in NOLA. There had been talk of some late add, non-scholarship guys to fill up roster spots. I think this fits that category. It also means we're going to see some additional offsetting moves at some point.

He's a corner infielder and outfielder.

Excellent pickup… kid can absolutely rake. He’s also sporting a 32 on the ACT. So he will have an academic scholarship.

Noticed him while reading about Priester, looks like they played on the same team last Fall. He was 5A all state in some good company. Maybe Lester will have a report.

A more extended video of Snelling from last week.

I don’t know this kid. I used to watch a ton of Catholic league ball. But not so much anymore. Theriot seems to love him

Tripp is a stud. Pretty sure he led the district in batting average, in the high .400s...beat out a kid from Brother Martin, going to Delgado, by a point or 2 for top average. Very smooth.

ETA: The kid from Brother Martin was a late bloomer, didn't really play much until his senior season. Super twitchy, gym/cage rat, coachable. I would not be surprised to see him excel at the college level.

Whatever you need to know about that district for baseball, let me know. I have more info and analysis on it than I do LSU baseball.

The Navy v. Red teams are currently playing in a PDP game. Crawford, Kennedy, Kling, and Romero play on the Navy squad.

Now, we have Milazzo that really just needs to develop at the plate, McManus that needs to develop as an SEC hitter and behind the plate, and Priester that is a blank, raw canvas. If we still suck at the catcher position next year, offensively or defensively, who do we blame?

Fact is we're gonna suck less at C next year no matter what happens (barring injury/illness to Milazo), which will be plenty good enough for this team to be in NC contention.

If a Priester or McManus shows out and gives us Top 3 SEC ability, it's icing on the cake.

I would expect Reyzelman's draft profile to tick up quite a bit after this summer on the Cape.

Kiley McDaniel just put out an early list for 2022. Berry was top 10, Doughty was top 25. So, so many of the recruits were on the list.

One thing I noticed looking at the PDP league box scores was Jace Laviolette playing CF. He'd always looked more like a corner guy because he was gigantic. But as has been noted in this thread, he's dropped a ton of weight. If he keeps his power potential and shows capability in centerfield, it will be very tough to get him to campus.

I think the 2022 list was 105 players.

He also did 2023 as well, Crews, Morgan, Floyd were on there.

And Update: He started last night going 6 IP, 6 H, 7 K, 1 BB and 2 ER

18.2 IP, 14 H, 29 K, 5 BB, 2.14 ERA, 1.02 WHIP in Cape Cod now

We are probably looking at a guy coming in and going potentially high in the draft in 2022 I bet. He is really turning it on.

I’m cautiously optimistic on him. He’s pitching well but has a mixed track record coming into the SEC.
