You would expect better ERA and BAA with those numbers.

1.51 whip

That’s a lot of base runners

You can. I will update the off-season thread, but not in a timely manner probably.

Maybe he can go ahead and bring Mason Neville as well.
Neville decommitted from Arizona a few days ago.

Fair point. Probably should’ve looked at whip

Probably had a AJ Labas type year where he just left way to much stuff over the plate.

I can tell you exactly what it is.

That team fielded .961. They gave up 49 unearned runs in 47 games.

They probably looked at film of this guy and recognized that a whole bunch of his hits weren't really hits and a whole bunch of his earned runs weren't really earned runs. And if you look at his single-game stat lines this guy would go on streaks where he would just punch out everybody.

Having said that, I'm thinking he's a secondary option for us. He's got 3 years of eligibility left, so he might be a guy you take on as a developmental arm, but if you're looking for a Friday starter I don't think he's it.

In 16 career starts he has

1.52 WHIP
15 wild pitches
7 hit batters

Stuff is probably good, has a bunch of double digit K games. And had a good 1st start in the cape.

But I’d say the issues are a little deeper than defense

I’ve watched a little of the Harwich stream. They’re the visiting team so the hometown announcers are making small talk about Brewster while they’re batting and aren’t giving a lot of details on Reyzelman but through 3 he has 1BB 0H 5K

Looks like he may be a really good get, then, as he continues to heal and get stronger!

That’s exciting. Hasty and Floyd are also being stretched out in starting roles on their summer teams. Hasty had a decent outing last time out.

Floyd had a good one.

The other portal arms, plus the juco guys being starters makes me think we’re going to have a bunch of guys that can go one or two times through an order even if we don’t have any that can go three.

Piggy backed starts, multi inning relievers. It can work, but you have to push the right buttons much more often.

Eric has a lot of potential for sure. He is very excited to be a Tiger.

Yall are higher on Floyd than I am. Kid needs a lot of work. He's more of a thrower than a pitcher at this point. Maybe Kelly can help develop him.

Keeping + thoughts we come out of the draft OK.

14.6 k:9 is freaky.

1.27 WHIP above average

2 of my favorite future predictors there.

3.38 ERA if you take out his first game blow up

Even so, 4.44 on the season is not bad at all.

Kelly is going to play more to his strengths in pitch calling. Will refine his weaker points.

Didn’t project do a big breakdown showing him being awful in the stretch compared to the wind up? In the astros game yesterday they talked about Maddux and Greinke being two guys that practice more out of the stretch because thats where all the high stress pitches come from. Floyd should’ve pitched from the stretch all summer.

Yea but it was all pretty much tied to one bad outing iirc
