LSU baseball will be the first major program that I am aware of to rebuild their roster in the new transfer portal era. I wonder if we see actual contributors from other D1 programs enter the portal specifically to come to LSU.

I think things would have to go pretty bad for us to do a complete rebuild. Our lineup for next year is practically set unless the draft guts our OF. The rotation is the only thing we will really need to rebuild

It would be nice to land a starter with weekend experience but between the current freshmen and incoming class we’ll have options. It will be interesting to see if the new staff would prefer to keep them in town or shorten their Summer league stay to begin working with them.

Hopefully they get to stretch out a bit in summer leagues and work on secondary stuff.
As far as the portal goes, I don’t think there is much out there just yet. Aside from the kid from LaSalle, who is in there because the program is shut down, the available guys aren’t difference maker types.
I wouldn’t be upset with looking at D2 and D3 options either. There are arms everywhere.

Brayden Jobert had a nice season at Delgado
.386 16 HR 70 RBI 7-10 steals
Would be a nice addition to the lineup

According to some in this thread he’s horrible. I do know Delgado doesn’t play good competition but he’s got some really good stats.

He’s a 1b/DH only type. And he hits left handed. Unless we see a lot of turnover, he’s going to have a lot of competition for at bats.
I am anxious to see how he does in the appy league. He’s playing for Bluefield. I think their season starts tonight.
Looks like he’s actually going to get time at 3rd base this summer. We are pretty set there as well. But he’s going to come in as a freshman with two seasons of experience, which is pretty nice.

He is a good player and I expect him to do well at LSU.

He can hit the shite out of the ball and with power.

Are Pearson and Dugas still scheduled to join him on that team?
Pearson and Holt are both in the lineup for Sanford tonight. It’s currently in the bottom of the 1st. Neither have batted.

Project, of the coaching names being circulated, who do you think will develop the young fellas best?

I can’t answer that here without becoming a hypocrite. I don’t want coach speculation in this thread.

Pearson went yard in his second at bat tonight in Florida.
ETA: he followed it up with a double.
Holt walked once.
Brayden Jobert was 2-5 with a SB

Where is Leto playing again?
Posted on 6/5/21 at 9:19 am to bugafor6
He will be playing for the Kalamazoo Growlers in the north woods league. But his high school team is still playing so he hasn’t started with them yet.
