I think she’s very talented, but based on her skill set, she’s not worth it to LSU. We have elite combo guards coming in already.

The Stanford softball pitcher and her deal had probably influenced this.

The other female athletes at LSU have used their success as LSU athletes to promote and market themselves with the help of LSU and its brand.

In other words, they performed and then took advantage of their opportunities. They earned it. This girl hasn't earned anything but a high school ranking. To heck with her.

I would be very curious to know if LSU has a booster that is willing to pay a women's basketball player anywhere close to that amount...

It’s would have to be an A’Ja Wilson level recruit or a player that CC became. Maybe only Clark is worth that.

There will be a company or booster who will pay $1.35 million if they want Chavez to play at Texas. They have tons of filthy rich alum and oil zillionnaires. It's a drop in the bucket for them.

Absolutely. She wants that much and shite talks a lot. If someone wants to pay that much for her, good for them.

She will be at home watching us play for championships while her team will her team will be eliminated. But it doesn't sound like playing for championships are a top priority for her. Those type of players usually don't live up to the hype. We want players that play with heart. Talent will get you so far but to be great it takes talent plus heart

I can't tell other people how to spend their money but if I am personally donating $1 Million for a player to come play at LSU, they had better be washing my car every week, cooking dinner and mowing the lawn at the very least. I thought NIL was supposed to be the athlete making money for themselves off of commercials, branding, and appearances? Are we now changing it into pay to play? Why even have them attend classes at that point? They aren't student athletes, they become employees.

I guarantee the Double Eagle guys at Tech will. Two pretty young guys who just became billionaires and they're desperate to make Tech relevant in any sport. They just bought the national softball player of the year from Stanford, Micah Hudson (five star WR in the last class), and tried to pay Quinn Ewers an absurd amount when he was leaving Ohio State.

Like you said, NIL is about branding, marketing, selling the company and their products. Company wants return on investment of the player. Usually, the player is highly visible, large number social media followers on tiktok, twitter, instagram, and player advertises the products on social media accounts. Player has pictures taken for advertisements, commercials and makes appearances. Livvy, Angel and Flaujae talked about how their NIL's work. And it was on recent LSU docuseries about NIL. It's a lot of work and a lot of time. Their full-time agents set up their schedules.

In CFB yes...all the big time QBs/WRs etc get high 6 digit/7 digits...
WBB the majority of programs dont even produce revenue profit, LSU until the last couple of years lost $4-5M a year on WBB.
Thats a hard NO..NIL with.these kids and handlers will destroy all the college games

Those three are how NIL was supposed to work. Those girls built their own profiles and capitalized nationally on it. Chavez is just pure pay for play. Different situations entirely.

I guess you can say that about our new commitment Divine Bourrage? She signed new NIL at LSU. She won't graduate HS till next year. #1 Mikaylah Williams signed NIL before she started at LSU.

No college softball team makes a profit. You mentioned Oklahoma who won 3 straight nat'l championships.

$2.9 million Revenue
$6.8 million Expenses

($3.9 million) Loss

I’m fine with NIL even for recruits BUT there is a difference in getting opportunities vs asking for over a million, like we aren’t being realistic here.
