Same "handler". Oh great.

Interesting. So, he's not committed. Got it.

I hope we have learned our lesson and understand that the last two days are where the recruitment can/will be won NIL wise.

Would love to see this guy end up being a Tiger, but hopeful the staff continues to not overpay for 17 and 18 year old HS recruits

And the he puts a cross in his message. I guess he doesn't know greed is one of the seven deadly sins.

Exactly. The game has changed. Relationships, getting out in front early, selling development within a certain system, etc are nowhere near as important, if they matter at all.
By coming out with such a message the kid is being completely transparent in saying “I’m for sale.”
So we need to wait it out, keep recruiting of course and hit him with our best offer the day before signing day or morning of
Nothing else before then means shite
Edit to add: hell even if you lose him out of high school, replace him with a portal player, wait and see if this kid even develops like you’d hope, and then go buy him through the portal if so inclined
Completely different world now versus pre NIL. No longer need to stress these early commits and de-commits. Too many other ways to replace kids and/or go get them later

Ole Miss won't have Kiffin on the sidelines much longer he's always had Happy Feet

RESPECT his decision.

Seems like we'll have a better than 50 percent chance to get these guys back from the portal if we want them a year or two after they go elsewhere.

Y’all need to stop. Y’all know this boy is just a kid and he’s trying to follow GOD’s PLAN

Better than that if willing to meet the price. Saw it too many times the last couple of years and not just with LSU recruits. Kids commit somewhere presumably or at least publicly for traditional reasons such as relationships and coaches and schemes that will develop them and then a week before signing day smoke starts filling the air involving schools they’d previously never seriously considered. Only this year, the media has been much more transparent about and the kids are too. Numbers are being openly reported and it’s become very clear what really matters to a lot of these kids.
So as Captain said, we just need to sit back and see what the market says and then make our pitch.
We don’t need to worry about the relationship aspect in most cases anymore. All the traditional reasons kids chose schools have been rendered largely inconsequential by NIL.
That was the most frustrating part of the underwood deal to me. Yes we had a good offer on the table but it wasn’t blowing anyone else’s away. He chose LSU for football reasons that used to matter in recruiting. Yet all it takes is some passionate booster making an offer a kid can’t refuse and none of it matters.
Hopefully there are some limits implemented soon.

Relationships still will matter...just now, you need to have a price tag with your relationship. I'm not sure if we've seen any instance where there was no relationship, and a HS kid just signed because of $.

Meh. In some rare cases which is why I said keep recruiting.
Who did Underwood speak glowingly off on Michigan’s staff? Maybe I missed that.
If relationships were so important the portal wouldn’t be this active bro. Kids have no issue leaving behind those relationships they committed to in the first place do they ?

More like “Hot Seat”. He’ll get fired for sucking and missing the playoffs continually.

This is the new football.
However, at least he’s being up front about it so we have options.
Not ideal but better’n decommiting for an extra 8 mm two weeks before NSD.

Yep. Hilarious to call himself underrated and mention his recruitment while being committed to one of the largest programs in college football. It doesn’t actually have anything to do with recruiting, it’s just trying to get all the big players to start bidding now.
